Well what did he say? I support gay marriage in all nations, the closest gays have to marriage is civial partnerships :I

They said that god intended for the tornadoes to occur because Jason Collins came out. Now I had to laugh; that was the most stupid and pathetic thing I've heard in a long, long while.

Even if god was real, I doubt he would send a tornado that destroyed and even killed people and their homes just to prove a point that homosexuality is wrong, there is always a logical explanation between all these religion things that marks you off as the devil

Like your hand burning if you hold a cross, the logical explanation is that there is a metal substance in the cross (crosses aren't fully wood) what the person is allergic to, I see this on the last exorcism

Long story short, Westboro Baptist is stupid. And yes I agree, everything "supernatural" is indeed natural and just doesn't have a discovered logical explanation yet. Faith, however, is good in that it gives a lot of people stronger hope and community and drives people to do charity (though morality and human consciousness should be the main driving force behind all these things in the first place).

I admit religion does keep community together, but some of the hardcore believers take it too far if someone doesn't agree with their religious views (atheism for example)

It's ironic because some atheists whine about how religious people are too critical and cynical, when they do the EXACT same thing (aka WHAT GOD, GOD IS STUPID, etc). Anyways, for all these beliefs, we're only really criticizing the hardcore extremists. I believe in looking at everyone as an individual, not as a generalization. This way you can really understand someone's belief; for example, Islam is a very interesting religion when you see it through nice and sociable people, obviously not when you see it through jihadists and terrorists.

ironic how PETA tries to stop animal cruelty but they inflict animal cruelty themselves

And the westboros try to promote religion, but corrupts its meaning while doing it.
What fun is there in making sense?

Yes, it should be the reason why, but if the human consciousness was the only thing in charge then the world probably wouldn't have charity. Morality is pretty much just an invention made by society, not the human brain itself.
