Yea, they changed it from gen 1 pokemon games to the gen 2 games.
They kept the gen 1 theme in the 2 remakes Fire red and Leaf green though.
What fun is there in making sense?

Well, considering it's no longer a grave-yard town and is now a radio station town, gloomy music is a bit unfitting, isn't it?
