Godfuckingdamnit hollywood. I'm a superfan of the book, which featured creepy, slow moving Romero zombies. It was really a big part of the book's atmosphere/theme/whateveryoucallthisshite, seeing that the world fell to shuffling brain-eating retards. I just saw the preview less than ten minutes ago and I nearly vomited on the damn keyboard. The CGI zombies looked so damn bad (If you say that it's hard to do/expensive, I don't care, just because something's expensive/hard to do doesn't mean it can't look like shit at the same time. Look at the last air bender/2012/any hollywood flick that over-utilizes CGI) I mean, they ran, jumped over each other, and fell over each other like they were water molecules, it was so unrealistic, when the film's source material is probably the most "realistic" analysis of a zombie apocalypse available. I lost my faith in hollywood, I'm never watching a summer flick again. Seriously, watch the trailer, 28 days later zombies don't belong IN THIS SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT 2: I hear Orson Scott Card gets the last word on everything that goes into the movie adaptation of Ender's Game, I have faith in that one since I love Ender's Game. I finished Game and I'm in the middle of Shadow. The library doesn't have Speaker and Xenocide. Gonna get to Shadow of the Hegemon, and Shadow Children soon.

If you forget the source book, then the film does look entertaining. Though I do agree that this does seem like a wasted opportunity, though I would need to watch the film to judge that.

However it is not uncommon for films that diverged from the source material to do well ("I am Legend" springs to mind).

I am legend was pretty good, but the monsters looked TERRIBAD. I prefer the 70's Omega Man.

You people cannot imagine how disappointed and angry I am with how shitty this movie looks, especially when it's source material was GOLD, practically a screenplay on it's own, it captured my imagination and painted a picture of a post-apocalyptic world better than thought possibel, and then they hired a mentally retarded guy to re-write the screenplay. And bradd pitt is the producer. Die bradd, DIE YOU MOTHERFUCKER
