Many fandoms do extreme stupid shit like that. But it is true that a big portion of the MLP fandom is made up of assholes.

I'll have you know I was an asshole long before I was a Brony.

Some bronies are insecure as hell, I mean its partly not their faults as they get a lot of hate. But honestly, their best hope is to WORK with the people who: a. sympathize with them, or b. don't give a f*ck, and not ANTAGONIZE these two categories of kind/neutral people.
