Anyone else notice the Google [Bot] online or that guy posting ads on forums? I'm trying to figure out wtf they are doing...

I noticed, and maybe everyone noticed
and idk why they are spamming here

I don't think people here are intrested in a mall sale on boots or being surveyed by a bot...

Actually guys, I think the bots are so our forums will appear on the search engine(s). So they check in every now and then to download our data into its cache. (I'm pretty sure it's actually a setting you can have the forum software allow/disallow)

Spam bots, on the other hand, don't actually show up as bots - they show up looking like real people so they can post spam. (Albeit they would have to get past the forum's registration security). But yeah these bots in question aren't for spam as far as I know.

Or something obscure or undesirable. That said, all offending spam bots will be removed from the forum effective-immediately, to prevent more spam.

Thank god... I hate having to deal with spam. I get enough of that crap from that f*cked up adware that's impossible for me to remove called DownloadNSave. :( i don't even know how I got it. Anyway, you can lock the topic whenever you'd like now.

Oh my god, I hate adware so damn much, and some-fucking-how it's perfectly legal. Ads keep getting more ridiculous and invasive, AND WE CAN'T STOP IT.
