4 years ago I recall thinking how I got so much time before this date shows up. Now It's only a little over 30 days away.

In short, the ancient Mayan civilization have a calendar with apparently accurate dates for world events, the calendar promptly ends on (After being converted over to the Roman Calender) December 21st 2012.

The origin of the supposed end of the world comes from a prediction in 2003 about Nibiru crashing into Earth, and when this didn't happen, the date was pushed back to the 21st of 2012 because of the end of the Mayan Calender which never told when the world would end, but DID tell the end of a time zone is the Mayan's time form.

I hate this stuff, seriously. There have been COUNTLESSSSSSS theories on when the world's ending and this one only got recognition because hollywood thought it could make some quick cash off of it. Another contributing factor may be the sheer number of stupid Americans in 'Mericka. IT IS BULLSHIT, ALL OF IT. THIS APPLIES TO SELF HELP AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE TOO.

I completely agree, it's the US that influenced the lesser minded of australia here and then it spreaded like a zombie infection to others.

Hahaha, actually I think this is true too, although I personally find it entertaining that people come up with these thoughts and conspiracy theories. I believe nothing extraordinarily* eventful will happen in a few day span from the 21st.

*Anything bigger than crazy ranters with signs and megaphones and slight worldwide distress and talk on Facebook and Youtube.
