You only read the title, didn't you? And this is SOPA 3.0, directed at people who upload videos containing ANY COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL down to the last pixel of a video game. This includes you and me. If this act passes, it will be considered a felony to upload such videos, no matter how harmless and/or innocent. As the guy in the video said: "Little kid uploads a video of him singing a song by his favorite musician? Sorry, SOPA passed, kid's parents are going to prison."

Because SOPA shuts down anything with a copyright on it...Youtube, wikipedia, game sites, online game developers won't be able to advertise their games due to lack of websutes so every website you love hug will be shut down if this bill passes

The FBI illegally shut it down. They literally raided the guy's mansion in New Zealand with choppers and machinegun men while his wife was pregnant. It was a file sharing site. I don't like the US government, they're like a fucking international bully that gives itself liquid money oil enemas every night.

Destructoid, do you know the US ripped up farms to find oil? so they sacrifice food for oil which may become worthless if humanity finds a way to not make technology dependent on oil

I'm sorry I joined the conversation late, but I believe one of Trialtrex's original points was that the US government sneaked this bill through the approval process without consulting the people. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this seem a tad illegal? This violates the very essence of the country being a frelling democracy, i.e. a nation in which the people's approval is required to pass laws and bills like these. My belief is that the US government is desperate to pass this bill and will resort to underhanded tactics to do so.

The bill itself is an example of what seems to be pointless paranoia and power-tripping. What, do they think terrorists are giving each other classified information over YouTube? I'm actually not worried at all about SOPA; it's so unpopular with literally everyone that it will never last long enough to become a problem. If they try to enforce it, they had better be ready for the chaos that will no doubt ensue.
