You only read the title, didn't you? And this is SOPA 3.0, directed at people who upload videos containing ANY COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL down to the last pixel of a video game. This includes you and me. If this act passes, it will be considered a felony to upload such videos, no matter how harmless and/or innocent. As the guy in the video said: "Little kid uploads a video of him singing a song by his favorite musician? Sorry, SOPA passed, kid's parents are going to prison."hug0905 wrote:what is wrong with Sopa?, it looks like a wonderful act, don't see any criticisms of them in wikipedia.

And I hope you live in America, becauseEarlier, I wrote:They already shut down Megaupload last time.
Even the people who WROTE the petition are ignorant bastards who don't seem to know that it affects the WHOLE GODDAMN PLANET. Good thing I'm American. INFINITE, I'll try to fit in a second signature for you as long as they accept more than one sig per IP.INFINITE561 wrote:I need to be AMERICAN to sign it!
This IS the third time, and they also say "third time's a charm," so I'm superstitiously worried about this one.SCP-500 wrote:i imagine they will return a third time in the future.

The FBI illegally shut it down. They literally raided the guy's mansion in New Zealand with choppers and machinegun men while his wife was pregnant. It was a file sharing site. I don't like the US government, they're like a fucking international bully that gives itself liquid money oil enemas every night.hug0905 wrote:wait, did they also shut down megaupload, if they did then i will sign the petition.INFINITE561 wrote:Because SOPA shuts down anything with a copyright on it...Youtube, wikipedia, game sites, online game developers won't be able to advertise their games due to lack of websutes so every website you love hug will be shut down if this bill passeshug0905 wrote:what is wrong with Sopa?, it looks like a wonderful act, don't see any criticisms of them in wikipedia.
And I'll be watching the news with a bucket of pop corn with people riotingTomgrakk wrote:I'm sorry I joined the conversation late, but I believe one of Trialtrex's original points was that the US government sneaked this bill through the approval process without consulting the people. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this seem a tad illegal? This violates the very essence of the country being a frelling democracy, i.e. a nation in which the people's approval is required to pass laws and bills like these. My belief is that the US government is desperate to pass this bill and will resort to underhanded tactics to do so.
The bill itself is an example of what seems to be pointless paranoia and power-tripping. What, do they think terrorists are giving each other classified information over YouTube? I'm actually not worried at all about SOPA; it's so unpopular with literally everyone that it will never last long enough to become a problem. If they try to enforce it, they had better be ready for the chaos that will no doubt ensue.
