As one gaming generation draws to a close, we look back at 2012-13 - another vintage year for gaming - vote now and help us celebrate the very best in interactive entertainment.

Now in their third decade, the Golden Joysticks are the oldest awards in gaming history and they matter so much because they are voted for by you, the gaming public.

This year's nomination window includes games released between August 25th 2012 and September 2013

My personal selections:

Voted for Dota 2 and The Last of Us.

Far Cry 3 for my game of the year. The RPG elements, open-world, and the AI are all superb.

I'm voting for GTA 5 (when it comes out) TLOU and that's it, no other games in this shitty generaiton has interested me

My mum is an avid fan of the Grand Theft Auto series.

I'm an avid fan of GTA and metal gear solid c:

If my parents ever caught me with any GTA games, they would disown me. Probably because of what the media portrays of it.

Why are the game awards of 2013 as a whole being held in September 2013?

I won't be able to vote for Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs or even Watch Dogs if they come to be my favorites. Rather unfair if you ask me. :<

This is what is wrong with society, if a kid turns into a right bastard because of a game, it's the child's and parents fault for letting the child play it and blame it all on a game. if a 6 year old plays GTA, they are still in the learning phase and they apply whatever they do in GTA into real life, blame the parents for letting such a young child play GTA...I've played GTA since I was 4 and I'm still perfectly fine, haven't commited any crimes or touched drugs
