So I was looking up a comparison between two things, this is the 2006 drawing of the main character (Aizawa Yuuichi) the anime is called Kanon:
This is a 2002 drawing of the same character:
I know they may not of had a budget for it back then but I looked at an older anime and can't help but notice it still looked better, the anime is called Neon Genesis Evangelion made in 1995:
Don't get me wrong I love the story of Kanon, I just can't stand the drawings of the 2002 Kanon, such an eyesore and all the while people argue that anime is not all about art, I would say that it should take more advantage of what art it can utilize in it's time and not make it look... silly.
