To me that sounds like the adequate reaction to when someone insults your fandom like that.
I believe the adequate reaction to someone insulting your fandom is to not care, but that is mostly because I don't care for fandoms.
While we are on this subject of demons controlling a fandom based on ponies, from the perspective of someone who does believe in god, angels, demons, all that stuff, even I have to say that princess luna's family had one of the most insane reactions to this situation. You can't blame people's faults on demons, that would imply people are good and perfect by nature. We are stupid beasts with no morals the moment we are born, but what makes us human is the ability to overcome that. You can't blame demons for the fact that people whinin the same fandom as you are still at that stage of beasts. Yet they run from the demons that are not really chasing them, going to the most extreme of measures, it is quite the tragic tale I must say. The thing that I find the most stupid however is the fact that Princess Luna could have prevented it all. All he had to was not consider himself a brony anymore, and that's it. The fact that he tried to contemplate so hard on if he should give up something that doesn't really matter is probably one of the saddest parts of this tale. Granted he is a kid so his logic is very weak, but still. There is either something I'm not understanding, or this situation just doesn't make sense at all.
