Your experience with computers?

No matter how well I treat a computer they always break on me.

I shoulda seen it coming. Booted it one day and I heard the clicking of doom. Poor thing didn't get past the load screen. My parents took it to Best Buy and they confirmed the HDD was infact, dead. Other than losing my shit over losing all my Skyrim progress, lots of family pictures and documents, accessing the internet for school is a pain in the ass. It'll probably be fixed in a day or two but for now I'll just have to do productive things. This is why steam didn't work all along. On the plus side I'm getting an HDD upgrade and I'll be able to play dota and rape noobs with invoker once again, maybe beastmode with weedman a little. This time I'm going to defrag that muthafucka every two weeks and pray to Lord Gaben that it won't break.

I hate computers.

So how have computers pissed you off my droogies.

A few months ago i had noticed that my Power Supply Unit fan had stopped spinning, i knew that i had to replace it quickly because PSUs tend to break fast from overheating but i never got around to it.

One day when i was overclocking my GPU and was playing Skyrim i had rebooted the computer because something had froze. When i turned it on again, i heard a loud "BEEP BEEP BEEP" and it turned off, i tried again and nothing worked. I smelled something burned.

Out of panic i disconnected everything and took out the PSU, not being sure if my MOBO or anything had survived.

When i replaced it everything was working like normal though.

I tried to dual boot windows 7 and windows server 2008 once, however, windows server 2008 didn't want to install, so i rage quited and decided to go back to windows 7 and delete the partition i created for windows server 2008, however, it didn't boot up, no matter how much F8 options i did, it wouldn't budge, so i had to reset my laptop entierly, losing all of my files.

I can almost swear that life has some invisible skill levels for everything. It seems as if people who don't have a high enough level with computers get an invisible message saying "Computer skill level too low. Your hard drive was obliterated" just completely at random.

Anyway, my computer's survived for a few years now, and the last year and a half was without antivirus (What can I say, I like taking risks. And my supposed skill level seems to be high enough XD). I don't know how it's survived this long, though. The first time I physically cleaned it out was a year ago, and it kept shutting down on me because I accidentally disconnected the heat sink. I had to reinstall Windows twice because a goddamn FBI ransomware virus locked me out (No big deal, I just copied everything from windows.old except my downloads folder onto the new OS, never got the virus since). And I've managed to fill up the hard drive once (Dammit, Fraps). And it's still running. Your guess is as good as mine how that's possible.

Well, I've been dealing with old PC's for a LONG time. My first laptop's fan stopped working, and the thing couldn't run for more than 5 minutes without dying, (And losing my minecraft saved. Q.Q). I had to take EVERYTHING OUT to get to the fan and replace it. I put it back together, and it ran perfectly for a good while. Then the hard drive broke, so I replaced that, had to install a billion drivers on the damn thing. THEN the hinges to the screen broke, had to replace those. Replaced the keyboard, AND FINALLY GOT A NEW LAPTOP so I handed it down to my sister.

Before that, I was fixing old hand-me-down PC's and cleaning them. So now I have 3 fully functional, clean, 5 to 8-year-old computers in my closet which are exceptionally fast, and I want to get rid of them.

My new laptop's power board breaks every once in a while, so I have to fix that. There are the occasional milk spills, which luckily haven't killed it. Yet.
I've been having some boot problems, so I should make a repair disk just in case... Maybe later... :P

Anyways, i've come a long way in taking care of these darn things. Meh.

Policia & computers. My other one I did my first CB work on died from old age, just bluescreened randomly, mouse stopped working, battery stopped working, keyboard keys sometimes not responding, etc.

OH, shit -- did you see TI3 ?? Man gordan, you should've been there  final game was absolutely sick.
Anyhow, level 9 in Dota 2. Wish had more bro's to matchmake with. :sob:

One month ago, while playing LoL, my screen always frezzed but then recover and work normally until it froze complety. So i shutdown the laptop and see the normal Windows loading screen at start. Then... The screen turned black. I could hear the Windows startup sound but couldn see a thing. Like the screen never turned up. Probably the graphics card is fucked but i can open Windows in security mode without problems... I dont even know. All
I know is no more computer for me

I've never really had any emergencies with computers. Just some small mistakes in setting up new hardware. For example: I recently bought a new processor. The guy at the store says it should work with my motherboard. I try it. It doesn't. After awhile of messing with the processor types, i eventually had to get a whole new motherboard due to compatibility issues. This lead me to wiping my hard drives, almost losing me my drawings which i would have been very sad about. Luckily my backup discs actually saved the drawings, plus some data from games. This was probably the only problem I've had with new hardware. So far I've had no failure with fans, hard drives, or what have you.
