I think you shouldn't need to get so upset over something so small. There's always time to drop in a small joke (sparingly), and it helps to lighten the mood. If we were to be serious all the time, we'd eventually realise just how sinister our reality is, and there ain't many ready for that.
I was going to say there was no rule of "Thoughtful Discussion" on Off-Topic (as is on most forums), but since this is the only subforum that isn't dedicated to the discussion of SCP-related topics, I'm going to take that back.
