Imagine, after a while of playing, you get used on how to escape both of them, but what if suddenly they are on the same room? It would be scary and hard to pass, but not impossible.
What if they align into your field of vision?
Then you are screwed. Which is pretty much the whole game in a nutshell, remember that red room that closes automatically.

Well, the game is fair. It gives you chances and you have to use your wits. The red room is a good example. You have to know about 173, have the right item, use your sprint carefully and you have to know where he is.

096 should be fair too, know where he's walking, look down/cover your eyes. Having 173 being able to follow you doesn't seem right.
It slep time bunner.

Then you take the horror away.
If they are on the same room, just look at 173 directly.
Sorry, but I think it has to be like that. The game isn't supposed to be forgiving.

With strange creatures whose target in life is to kill you, forgiveness doesn't fit in.
173 and 96 in the same room would actually give containment breach 1 extra level of scary and challenge, wouldn't be fun if they did it 100% or 50% of the time.
If there were a 6% chance of them being in the same room, preferably an office room, there would also be enough space to have 96 walk out of your eye sight so you still could watch 173.
What fun is there in making sense?
Now, if you will excuse me i have some chaos to wreak.

I always imagined 096 would sort of wander around with his hand covering his face most of the time (unless you draw his attention) quietly crying and mumbling gibberish, until you look at him and he flips a dip. This would help you know if he was nearby, although I think you shouldn't be able to pinpoint exactly where he is, since it'd make you paranoid that he could be around any corner.

We need a good base sound! I'm thinking of messing with the Lure subject's screams. I'll get to work and let you guys share your thoughts as soon as I'm done.

Good. I was planning on making an ambient sound similar to roar.ogg, only with 096's screams instead of my RAWR (and less screen shaking).

But 682! Your RAWR is so sexy awesome!

Back on topic, 096 rawr should be heard when he is near you, and not anywhere like your rawr
