Yeah read his blog about the 0.19 update, no mention of mining in there.
I was kind of looking forward to seeing it too..

I've got to say the new rovers and facial expressions are a great addition, as well as reentry heat visual effects (heats coming later).
Glad it hasn't broken any of my saves too, I have a lot of things going on atm
