That makes it more exciting I guess!

Hey people who hopefully cares about this project! I was thinking of maybe switching from Unity to The Unreal Engine! The game can be developed in UDK for free as long as there is no commercial gain. Are you VERY familiar with the UDK licencing terms and see a fault in my thinking? Then please tell me! I see "The UDK is also FREE for non-commercial use. Feel free to use the UDK to make any application (game or otherwise) for free distribution. No additional license (beyond the EULA) is required. Just go for it." in the commercial terms, so I think I am fine.

What is your opinion on using the unreal engine? Go ahead and say it! (Just be polite) It can be a quick conversion from Unity to Unreal so don't fear that.

In my personal, horribly uneducated opinion, I think the Unreal engine is better if you want better graphics. I'm not so sure about compatibility or features, though.

Better graphics, better items, better interface, better doors, better modeling, better map construction, better physics, easier to build, and a bunch of other stuff. The only problem I see will be the size of the download.

I say go for it as long as people with slower connections don't mind a larger download.

I hate to say this, but game development may be stalled out even longer. It gets hot were I live and my computer isn't the best at cooling, so when building the game my computer tends to get rather hot. So I may wait for it to get colder before I start building again. I still can still build models in Blender, so it isn't all bad.

This sounds awesome! I can see it all now, moving from testing chamber to testing chamber, making sure all is well in the foundation. Stopping by 096's container only for him to try and escape, the grinding little footsteps of 1048-C running through the vents overhead reminding you that yes, he still exists. The roars and insults of 682 echoing through the walls. Then again I tend to go a little overboard with ideas like this. I can't wait to see what you guys are cooking up :gasp:

Don't worry about it. Slower development is better than your computer overheating and losing everything. Of course, that's the worst case scenario and probably won't happen anyway. Just curious, how much have you gotten done so far?
