I really like this idea of having the same SCP-682 model in both games. Obviously because it means less work for us, but also because it makes it feel like the games are set in the "same universe".
Apparently you guys don't want to share the model publicly, which I understand, but if you put it in your game, can't anyone just grab the model from the games folder? Or is there some kind of system in Unity to prevent that? There isn't any built-in feature in Blitz3D to stop anyone from using the media included with the game, but I guess I could use some encryption algorithm to prevent that if you want to.
...And one more thing: you should mention somewhere in your site that the game is licensed under Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported -license. All the content in the SCP wiki is under that license, and it requires that everyone who wants to use their work has to use the same license. Otherwise you might get some angry emails from the Foundation when your game gets more publicity.
Re: Six-Eight-Two
#22Your game looks great. I really do hope you do well in the market. Then again who wouldn't play a free game!? It is free..............right?

#23Yes, it is free.Masshorde wrote:Your game looks great. I really do hope you do well in the market. Then again who wouldn't play a free game!? It is free..............right?
Re: Six-Eight-Two
#24Even better. I just dont see why people were whining over a 682 skin change. Petty shit that people want to be perfect..............ndi05 wrote:Yes, it is free.Masshorde wrote:Your game looks great. I really do hope you do well in the market. Re: Six-Eight-Two
#25From what I understand, pretty much anything having to do with the SCP Foundation has to be free. Books, movies, etc. have all come up on the main site, but because of all the legal issues, anything for-profit is pretty much impossible (legally at least).
Re: Six-Eight-Two
#26Every time somebody tries to sell anything SCP related, the wiki brews a giant shitstorm. That's not a bad thing though.

#27I was thinking the same thing Regalis
Microcaine is animating the model as we speak, so once we're done working with it, he can send it to you! Also, yes. Unity doesn't build games with the actual files in them, it compresses them to prefabs and what not, there would be no way to retrieve any of the stuff, or at least no way of getting it as far as I know
Yes this game will be completely free! We do however accept donations, but I wont go into that because it doesnt matter :3 We like to keep things related to SCP foundation non profit, I respect them greatly (although Dr.Bright had a huge rant about us making Six-Eight-Two..... LOLOLOLOL)
Thanks for the kind words guys!

Yes/ However you can look at the code, but cannot retrieve models or materials.Divinity wrote:Unity doesn't build games with the actual files in them, it compresses them to prefabs and what not, there would be no way to retrieve any of the stuff, or at least no way of getting it as far as I know![]()
I also saw the Unity thread for Blackout.

Re: Six-Eight-Two
#29Blackout is currently on hold until we can earn a stable income, the project was far too large to work on for free :L
And that team is unfortunately out dated, we've made the team slightly smaller, due to inactivity or people moving on to AAA companies (darn). We lost an animator to Riot Games a few months ago :/
