As I understand it, there's an electrical room in the game which shuts down the power to the remote door control systems, allowing the player to access SCP-079, as well as the Gate A and/or B endings. Keep in mind that some linearity is a necessary evil just to keep things working effectively. Imagine if the level 2 keycard room was beyond a level 4 keycard door along with SCP-914. That strange Camera effect (No HUD or the picture moving all over the place) is usually thanks to Youtube's special feature that lets you re-adjust videos with a shaky camera.
