I know this has been said time and time again, but add dead guards (like decoration - someone mentioned that ) and more creepy stuff in the pocket dimension. it's just not that scary the way it is now. though it has gotten better after v 6.6.

A flashlight doesn't necessarily make the game happier. It makes it scarier in a lot of ways; keep the radius small and your mind will start seeing things. I know I said this before but I really think it would be a good idea to have some clue or helpful tool retrievable within 860-1. Maybe some past doctor or D class subject died in the forest and left something behind? That would add to the creepiness and atmosphere there as well.

Just like you can find Dr. Maynard's note in the pocket dimension, the forest should have some vital clue hidden deep within it!
