Learn to be patient. 40% back then means it's still quite a way from being finished. 40% probably isn't even accurate, seeing as you can't predict the extent of bug-testing and bug-ficing required, and there may be a whole variety of changes that will change the amount of time left to work on the game. If you merely wanted to prompt more activity in the thread, you could ask for an update on what parts have been implemented into the code, or start a speculative discussion about the features of the game that haven't been revealed.
