Re: How does 173 works technically?

2. Well u can but since the brain got used to blink both eyes at the same time you eventually blink both. AND 173 will be really pissed off and will kill you, blinking or not.
I am actually thinking of a dispositve that makes you don't have to blink, like an eye opener combined with some sort of automatic eye drops. And I am not sure if he would get mad as he is like some sort of possessed statue...

Well, here's what I would consider to be how 173 works. This is based off the article and somewhat a bit of the Weeping Angels' mannerisms.

Watching through the camera would essentially be an extension of your view, as if you were looking through a window, onto 173. I would think that, giving the fact that there's most likely delay in the CCTV monitors, you could potentially see 173 move if you blink, yet it wouldn't count as watching him moving directly.

Yes, closing one eye could help you. There's some sort of conspiracy theory that it 'pisses' him off which I've seen, which is NOT true. It annoys me to no end to see that on a YT video, and whenever I ask someone about it, they're all like "dude, read 173's wikia page and then come back", and I'm like "Uhm, it doesn't say that anywhere."

And yes, that could potentially help you, but the situation itself it a very hard process to carry on. Try to consistently keep one eye open, and open the other before closing the first, and repeating vice versa, for more than a minute, while moving around a room and opening and closing doors.
It slep time bunner.

That is still not affective.

Yea, I thought the same, though I never had in mind the delay of the monitors, so I guess, just maybe, that if the monitor lags then it would count as an actual blink?

There's nothing about cameras in the article, so this question doesn't have anything that can be considered a "canon" answer. You can think what you want in this case.
2.Can you actually close one eye, then the other so you can still watch him or would he just charge you?
3.If the answer is yes, wouldn't that make SCP 173 easy to avoid?
I wonder how many people that make this question actually tried blinking one eye at a time. You inevitably will close both eyes, eventually, and it's always sooner than later.
But yes, it wouldn't charge at you, since you would still be looking at it with one eye. As long as you can see it, it won't move.
This is the best answer, but I'd like to amend that it is possible that a living being viewing it through a live video feed would probably cause it to remain motionless, depending on the frame-rate. As a side note, any claims that blinking one eye at a time will somehow enrage 173 and allow it to break the no-move rule for some reason comes from a non-canon piece of fan-fiction. Stress on the Non-Canon.

Maybe I should change it to what he could do theoretically instead of technically, so we could make up scenarios and theorize what would happen... hmm.

EDIT:

Changed the title and added a bit of info to the thread, and here is an item idea I came up while talking about this. XD

You can combine this with the Eye drops, but it only lasts for a certain amount of time(until the eye drops "dry out") but it lets you keep your eyes open much more time.

This item could be found in some sort of brainwash area, or as part of a project to be used against 173.

What do you guys think?
