I would assume it gave up against 682 because he is essentially multiple creatures within multiple creatures and its polymorphic properties may have confused 096, plus Im pretty sure 682 has entered a deathlike state on several instances so maybe part of him died and what was left had not actually "seen" 096. Not to mention 096 purposefully avoided 682 after the incident. 682 is true horror in all respects, and even something like 096 knows that. Also I agree with a picture of 096 but only the artist depiction that has no effect, maybe as part of a 2 page document where the top sheet explains 096's effect, then the next is the picture. Would scare the crap out of people because they think they will be killed any minute but of course nothing happens.

I think everyone is in agreement that a photo of 096 would not only make the game irritating as you would die through no fault of your own, as well as the fact that the Foundation would never be so careless in leaving photos of an unstoppable entity just laying on a desk or carried around by personnel, this would cause multiple breach events and would go against the principles of the Foundation which is canon that must coincide with SCP's canon. The only canonical instance would be the Insurgency, but they would end up killing themselves as well and would make this tactic useless. I think we should all settle for at the most a drawn picture of 096 and leave it at that.

No, I actually do not agree.

The foundation has at least one canonical photo of 096, as proved by the references to various tests on the article. It is true that the Foundation wouldn't have it laying around a table, but that is solved by putting it into a box or a file and inside the 096 chamber, or in a separated secure locker like the ring.

Also, I wouldn't considete it unfair, it is not auto death, it is autodeath if you click in the 096-photo in your inventary. If you read the document ingame/the loading screen you should know that 096 will atack you if you do that.

Photos of 096 are incinerated when testing is complete.

Well... if that is true I would fully change my opinion. But would you point me in what part of the article that is said, please? The only similar thing I am able to find is that every visual record of 096 is to be destroyed if you don't have O5 or dr[redacted] approval.
