Removing the picture from SCP Labels.

#1
Hello everyone,

Through my playthroughs of SCP:CB I've always noted that the signs indicating SCP's containment chambers have always looked funny with they're pictures right next to them and would personally like to see them removed.

Now I did bring a little more than just that, I've given some thought to it and realized that the pictures sort of 'give away' the SCP in the containment chamber and largely seem's unprofessional to show an image of the SCP inside. Here are basically my points:

1. The Unknown is what makes things frightening; do you really know if there isn't a monster under your bed or in your closet in the dark of night? Does your mirrors reflection still stay there when your not looking? We don't know what may be there, that's what alerts us and makes us cautious, anxious and fearful. The Unknown. Removing the image will put anyone on edge of what may in there, even if the label reads 'Keter', 'Euclid' or 'Safe'. The best we get is a little warning of it's sentience/possible violence.

2. Removing the image gives greater rise to players finding/reading the SCP's document to see a picture of it and be sure of what's inside, if they could obviously see the image is that of a giant snake that breathes fire already right outside the containment chamber, they're going to have a pretty good bet of what's inside there or what to expect.

3. I think the images look a bit silly.

I've went and made some minor edit's to each current SCP's label in they're containment chamber and took in-game screenshots, now I admit I'm not a texture/paint artist myself, but I think we can now or in the future come up with a better/different looking SCP Label too. But here's my image edits in-game:

SCP-173's Containment Chamber:

You can get a better effect with 106 + 372:

Bonus 079:

Thoughts please??

While it is a good suggestion, I think the pictures really do give you a feeling on who this certain SCP is supposed to be and add a bit of character to each one. The signs with the image redacted seem a bit... empty. But then again, there's SCPs like 372 where you can barely make out what it is, and it seems a bit pointless.

I definitely am in favor of these signs being tweaked though. I think a better change could be a stylized and simplistic stencil interpretation of the SCP if needed for identification. SCP's like 914, 895 and 860 wouldn't really need it, but for SCP-372, you can see the small, thin-legged freak for reference, but somewhat vague, so the image won't be as helpful as a photograph. I do find the 106 picture rather silly to be honest, so I think a small change would make it seem much more professional imo.

Actually, there's already what appear to be text-based signs in the GFX files, I don't know what they're for, have never seen them in-game and they recently appeared in the V0.5 update. Maybe Regalis is ahead of us?

Oh, and maybe a color code based off object classes would be nice too, seeing a mint green for safe, standard yellow for euclid, and orange for keter.
It slep time bunner.

Lets stick to the script guys.
These signs from the SCP site are already sexy enough.

I have no problem with the removal of the images from the labels... but I don't find it to be that much of a big deal.
How else will people understand they are being chased by old man 106 if the chamber doesnt have the lable with his pic on it?

Besides its not like the pictures of the SCP's are THAT specific in the labels. Tbh the labels are quite terrifying.
*looks at 106 lable*
-Oh fuck me sideways. I do NOT want to have to face such a terri...- wait, whats that noise?

They will know because of the documents. I think that labels aren't reallistic at all, and it will be more creepy that you only could know how do the SCPs look like reading the docs.

(Wow, I think I'm improving my English a lot posting on this forum :D Thank you all xD)
DON'T SHOOT! LET THEM BURN!
