Re: Audio Requests

Greetings, I got redirected to here when I posted from the introduction thread.
I wanted to know if you guys were in need of some help when making music/sound effects for this game? I'm somewhat of an musician and I mostly make dark ambience songs mixed with either techno/trance or industrial.

Here are some samples of what I make and there are a couple more songs in my introduction thread aswell (Link here: http://scpcbgame.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 100#p74100).
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/uh9l86b75l9ytgj/RgAReYyVl2

And here is a quick rundown of the 8 songs on that list:
01: Dark Ambience/Industrial.
02: Ambience/Calm Melody? Not sure myself really, but this one show something other than just dark ambience.
03: Calm Melody, Another one just to show another branch of music I make.
04: Dark Ambience/Industrial.
05: Dark Ambience.
06: Dark Ambience/Industrial, some melody in it.
07: Dark Ambience/Industrial, also some melody in it.
08: Industrial/Melody song.

These ones are just samples I wanted to show you, not sure what you want to hear so I just posted a couple of random ones in hope some of them would fit. Now I wanted to know if there were any interest/need for it and if it is just reply about it, would love to help or atleast try, thanks for your time! :)
Cheers.

New SCP-096 Idle Sound!

HUGE Thanks to Serimah for providing the HD Crying Sample.

Our previous attempt used a much lower quality one and Serimah's contribution really helped out by a huge margin.

UPDATE [ 19/01/2014 ]

Possible Chase Theme for SCP-049. Completely remade to suit his atmosphere.

https://soundcloud.com/fire-fox-3/scp-049-tension

Perhaps this could play once the Player enters 049's Tunnels and starts finding all the Corpses on the Floor. Once the Player spawns 049, The Danger Theme could play.

Well it would be interesting to know if this sort of music would fit. But just to be sure I created 2 songs just for SCP:CB or atleast how I think SCP:CB should sound like but I don't think I know enough to really say that. Still, atleast it's something new.
Hope it helps. :)

EDIT: oh and thanks by the way.
EDIT2: I uploaded some sound effects aswell, but I will probably not upload any more songs/effects before I know if my help is needed :)

Trapped has a really deep yet Industrial feeling to it. It's got a great Horror Atmosphere to it. The middle to end bit really reminds me of an whole army stomping into position [ Such as the Helicopters and Guards at each Gate Ending ].

Focus gives off a very suspensful feeling. Certainly quite foreboding and a slightly Army feeling too. It is possibly the more relaxed of the two but the more eerie. Could be great for a build up to an event.

Really Great Stuff. That's some fantastic work right there. :) Love the sound of those Synth Strings in Focus and the Intensity of Trapped.

On a side note.

Finished some more Sounds.

https://soundcloud.com/fire-fox-3/scp-860-ambience - SCP-860 Ambience.

https://soundcloud.com/fire-fox-3/scp-8 ... nce-danger - SCP-860 Ambience when in Danger.

Thank you!
I find it funny that you responded while I updated the folder with 9 sound effects and 4 failed songs, hope that your transfer wasn't slow or corrupted! :P
I wasn't sure if I wanted to upload something which doesn't fit the theme, but then I remembered that I might aswell because noone will ever hear those songs anyways and what do I got to lose, maybe something in them are salvageable (like the marching beat in one of them) hehe.

Anyways, thanks again and now I guess I'll play the waiting game and see if the songs are worthy of the game or if they must be edited, or maybe they just doesn't fit, who knows? :)

EDIT: Spellcheck and changed sound effects from 7 to 9

Hey guys, I made a little change to the metal footsteps. All of them have a high pitched ringing sound in them, I don't know if it's just me, but it drove me nuts! Anywho, I did a bit of EQing and toned the ringing down, otherwise the files are unchanged. It's a pretty minor change but I just thought I'd share with you guys! :D

(I don't know the etiquette for sharing sound files but hopefully Soundcloud will do for now!)

I want to say first off, I love how this is shaping up. The sounds especially are amazing - the music is really mood-setting and the dialogue is believable for the situation. It's also nice to see so many people with so many different useful skills and ideas all putting it together. (I sound like a cliché, but it's true.) Anyway:

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, because it is largely a suggestion, but it is audio-related. D-9341 speaks while trying to finish SCP-012, so we can tell he's male. I think it would be good to be able to choose at the beginning whether the player is male or female, since D-class can canonically be either. It wouldn't affect much, but that also means it won't be too much effort (correct me if I'm wrong), so it couldn't hurt just to add that little touch.

I am willing (okay, fine, I'd jump at the chance) to record the lines. If you guys are interested in doing this, I can get them done and uploaded soon.
I can kill you with my brain.

I think the option of choosing D-9341's gender is pretty cool, the idea itself has been around for a while, just no ones been able to do it. I could imagine how hard it could be to immerse yourself as a character who's only known trait is that they're of the opposite sex, so adding such an option would be only fair. The only thing I can imagine that would be problematic is having to find and change bits of information that depicts D-9341 with masculine pronouns. This also brings a possible SCP to mind for me, SCP-113, which could be implemented along with the gender feature.

On a side note, there is a couple of other sounds aside from 012 where D-9341 speaks or makes a noise of some sort, I could compile a list later if you want to replace those as well.
It slep time bunner.

That was exactly my thinking.

It would be interesting, but I'm not sure what purpose it would serve in terms of gameplay. Unless there were functional differences between the sexes, e.g., men can sprint longer and women don't need to blink as often, but that would be scientifically inaccurate because men and women blink about the same amount (and in fact the myth is that women blink more, so they would be doubly disadvantaged in game).

Then again, this is a game where the main enemy is a homicidal moving statue. I think there are some creative liberties with science here. :)

The more the merrier.

https://soundcloud.com/fire-fox-3/sinister-ambience - Could be used for 035 or 513-1.
