That's...... redundant. The only reason a heart-beat meter would be in the game, is if you looked at SCP-1025, and read "Cardiac-Arrest", then see a meter showing how much time you have before you die. Which, is stupid in it's own right, it takes away from the panic the player experiences if he does not have SCP-500-01, and the confusion if they die from it the first time.

The other time would be at SCP-895, but it's the same problem, it just can't be "cured" by 500-01. Anyway, we can already hear Heart-beats from these things, so there's no point.

Ok, there are many things wrong with this thread so let's go through the list.

1.) The fact that it's your opinion is irrelevant, that doesn't make it not a bad idea.

2.) How does it add realism? Having a Heart-rate monitor on the hud like it's surgically implanted in your eye doesn't seem realistic to me. If anything it's quite the opposite. Wouldn't looking at that useless part of the hud basically be a hindrance on the immersion of the game. You know, immersion, one of those things a horror game NEEDS in order to be successful.

3.) You're asking for realism in an SCP game. SCP is about a men-in-black organization containing dangerous, sometimes world and/or reality ending anomalies, including a lizard that can't die, "God", and a never-ending pizza box. Doesn't that just scream realism. Also realism in video games is a stupid idea in general, most of the time. There are probably quite a few games(which I'm not going to bother researching now for this, so I'm just going to pretend that those examples exist) that use realism in a good way, but the point is, SCP: Containment breach is not one of them, nor does it need to be.

4.) It should not be added because, even if it did achieve the effect you're going for (which I pointed out above how it wouldn't), It really wouldn't have enough of an effect in order to warrant taking up space on the screen.

5.) The heartbeat sound effects already pretty much do the job without covering the screen and hindering immersion.
