Just a little detail that I thought of after I forgot to hang up the phone: Perhaps you could fine a phone that wasn't hung up, making that noise that plays when a call was dropped, maybe you could find a walki-talki (or a radio used by the MTF) some where, and you could hear maybe static, people screaming, whimpering, giving orders, and just an assortment of strange sounds.
