There are scripts for GameMaker for changing controls.

You are used to it, not other people. Just because you can play the game like that doesn't mean it is how it should be done. Other people are going to play the game, so don't just concentrate on what YOU like.

Also, not everyone has a number keypad to the right of the keyboard, so your controls will be fucking ridiculous on a laptop without a keypad to the left. If people are telling you to change it, there is a reason.

I know it can seem difficult, but I used a very similar control scheme for Super Metroid on the ZSNES emulator. Right as I put this in, the game became a hell of a lot easier to play. I understand that a less than average control scheme can be difficult to learn at times, but my controls do not require the user to move their hands around the keyboard very much, making it easier to understand.

I would like to appologize. I was a little upset that no one seems to like my control scheme because I had spent a long time figuring it out.

As I said before, right as I implemented my control scheme, the game I was playing became far easier to play, and I wasn't as use to it as I was the default controls.

Notice that I didn't come up with a control scheme for a second player when I posted my second idea for the controls. I wanted to have the game allow two players to play without any internet conection what-so-ever. This was my reason for utilizing the number pad on the side of the keyboard, for part of the second player's controls.

Giving the players there own sides of the keyboards is a good idea.

What ever happened to the idea of having a customizable control scheme?

And i still don't know what you meant by that. If you plan on putting in magic, you should put in more effort so that it doesn't appear to be a half assed last second feature. Also i think that limiting it to STAMINA is in my opinion retarded, but if nothing but this keeps your erection going then please INSERT yourself.

You must understand this is very, very, very early in development; hell, we don't even have a title figured out yet. Until they're discussed and improved upon, most ideas will be shitty.
I understand Game Maker isn't the best engine for a game, but it's the best I know, until I learn Java that is. If you truly don't want to see "borked" controls implemented in the game, then suggest your own idea on what the control scheme should be.
I don't fully understand the old Greek ways or their beliefs. This is why I was unsure about using magic of any sort.
