Reading this will give you an overview of project #2 (third picture): The original game, then what's a faction, then other factions, then the project itself. Screenshots.

Project #1 (second picture): Inside the same community, there were some which accepted the challenge of making a land-based version of it (the game is originally set in space). Eventually I enrolled in the challenge aswell. See Quantus under the Misc. Development forum. Some storyline. Finally, an old screenshot of the now-inexistent site. I did the GUI, the posts are by the main coder (the second one to take that role). The project eventually died, from lack of staff, commitment and people leaving without reason or warning. There was hardly any coding done, too many models and graphics done, and the choice of a commercial engine did not help either.

It's all very old for me. It's quite entertaining to read some of the storylines again.

Also, thanks for those who expressed their appraisal of my work.
Nice. I actually remember hearing about Allegiance before. It's cool you worked on it. Thanks for sharing this. It was very enjoyable to look up :) I might just try this game, actually looks like it can be a ton of fun!

HexaSheller, model'd for "CIty of Steam"

what you think?
Nice! I like the shaded properties you've added to it, has a nice overall look to it! The bullet casings seem a little bit too noticeable though, maybe if they were blended in better, but other than that it still looks awesome!
Good Job!

Looks great, is it 1 handed or 2 handed the way you hold it?

Hey
What 3D Modeling program do you recommend for a noob like me that is interested in learning the ways of 3D Modeling?
Blender, it's a little hard to get into and the learning curve is pretty steep, but it's easy to use after you learn it and it's powerful as shit.

Google sketchup can be used if you are really really new to it and want to make simple form models.
I recommend Blender too though, tried skethup once and i didn't find it too useful.

NEVER use BLENDER. You hear me? Forget that useless program. Try to get into 4d Cinema, 3Ds Max, Maya or whatever. but FORGET Blender. Its so hard to work with that piece of.. Piece of you know what I mean! I am working with 3Ds Max and its way better than Blender. Trust me... Just don't do it.
