Personally, I think that moderation should be a private action for the most part. The public doesn't need to know if someone gets a warning/ban or not, in fact it usually leads to more derailing when mods post about such things.

Like a post underneath the reported comment stating: "GNARRGLLLHH, GET OTU OF THIS THRAED"
Spoiler
:D
But really, a quick post when somebody is over the line and giving a public warning are perfectly fine, you don't have to smite the person infront of the entire forum if you don't want to. But seeing some activity and realizing that there is authority here will have an effect on spam and such.

edit: this was made in answer to spartan322. Looks like we got 2 different opinions on this. Hue.
I AM A HUGE ATTENTION WHORE.

That is exactly what I am saying. If people see that others are being reprimanded because of a certain behavior, then it is more likely that they will not act is said way since they know it has consequences. I am not saying that they should immediately jump and ban the person, but if they see this person not listening and doing what they are not supposed to do many time (remember SFK? How many times was he perma banned, 3? 4? and you guys still let him back several times) then they should get a warning or a temp ban depending on what they did. Not saying that they have to post every single thing that they do, but people need to know that their actions have consequences, and the best way they can is by seeing why others are getting reprimanded.

*ahem* this post is actually something hat should be a notice. A forum is for discussing and developing things related to the theme. Don't let this be another freakin' aquasasasa wiki....... (most retarded wikia ever  )

About the aquasasa part, Some kid who was banned for being 8 made a wikia called the aquasasa wiki, and the front page said: My first wiky, post ur topic here and enjoy my wiky (yes it was genuinely spelt like that...), and the guy sent me a message saying, Do u want to c my wiky? I looked and I found the bullshit............ and the kid's icon was a girl in a bikini with (I feel ashamed of saying this...) a caption saying, You know you want it.

Now that is out of the way, I like masks.

You know, going off topic in a thread that is about NOT going off topic is anti-productive and defeats the purpose of the thread.
