Everypony? Every... Pony? EVERY...PONY?... EVERYPONY? *gunshot*

So let me try and get this straight?

Twilight (The Purple One) is doing whatever they do in MLP and suddenly in one episode she becomes an "alicorn" by accident or coincidence, which I am assuming is on par with Princesses Celestia or Luna. If true that honestly seems lazy on the writers part, jumping from a regular pony to a demi-god of sorts. The equivalent being some average Joe helping an old lady and suddenly becoming the King of the England!

Unless they were hinting or building up to this event through out the series, then that would make sense.

(I bet they will find a way to revert her back to normal.)

If she becomes one for 1 episode, there better be a good story as to why, like the plot for the last episode this season; accidentally switching destinies for everypony and having to use her powers to create a counter spell.

No I am not a Brony for your information. Just interested in this seemingly weird jump from normal to demi-god.

If she used a spell that went wrong Steelpoint, that could lead her to change place with the Princess, thus becoming an alicorn.

That seems far to easy to do, while a reasonable excuse I think that it does seem a bit cheap of a way to force in this change. Also if that is true would not some more evil individual have already tried it?

Thats the thing about Twilight, shes born with raw magic abilities greater than anyone the princess has ever met and she is well over 1000 years old.
If some of that raw power was to be used on accident, such a spell could be used.

About the villains using it though, Discord just wants to have chaotic fun, Chrysalis just wants to feed her minions and hive, and King Sombra wanted to control and corrupt the crystal empire which i think was said, that if fear took hold of it, fear would spread across the rest of Equestria.

I can imagine Sombra wanting to become an alicorn for the chance at UNLIMITED POWER!, but he just didn't get to that point (He was too busy organizing and whipping his CRYZDAL ZLAVEZ).

Also, it would further increase the relation between Sombra and the Alicorn Amulet, which bears a likeness to him. Perhaps it is an artifact from the Crystal Empire made for Sombra to increase his power (One of the reagents needed for his ascension to godhood), but the Crystal Ponies kept it secret from him and gave it to that shopkeeper guy for safe keeping until he sold it to Trixie who gained its Alicorn powers and-

Phew, I'm going off on a crazy tangent. It's surprising how much the show makes you think, though.
