I've seen some articles talking about this upcoming console, the ''Steam box'', some sort of thing that will unite the PC and the console and reinvent usual game consoles.

What do you guys think of this? Do you think it will work as they planned? (Valve is a VERY smart company.)

I think that consoles and computers will be the same thing in the future, just look at the next generation

A PC that is a console. Sure sounds good. It plays games, so it is already better than... a certain upcoming console.

The "open" nature of Steam, i'm sure it will get the Steam Box to the top, modding, community, workshop, indie-dev support, all those things will probably get it to the top.

"If you want.", that's gaming's future.

But it sure will have a long battle to get into the PS4 tier.

That's what makes Valve the best video game company at the moment, they support community-made stuff; other important companies don't do it.

As for my opinions on the Steam Box, it looks okay. I'm still getting a PS4 (if I do get a next gen console) though.

Isn't steam box is special PC? I'm not surely understood... o_O
