Now I know I am not really active on the forums much, but the continual silent tone that has been originating from this forum is making me tired of it all.

Remember when this game started? When it was the next ambitious project after Joonas finished SCP-087-B. It started out small, but soon had excelled in almost every figment of creation possible? What happened to those discussions? With every version of the game being released, the more and more people seem to only focus on the forums.

Now these forums seem to be less and less about the game and more and more about bullshit. People simply head STRAIGHT to the forums, without even realizing what the reason is for. Every single time I type in "scpcbgame.com" and the main page shows up, I always pause for a second, and admire everything. I admire what the game stands for, what it represents. I even head to the "about" button and read through it, just like I did when I first came across this game. The community is drifting apart from the source. These forums might as well be a fan base for the SCP universe only or My Little Pony fans or raging threads about people angry at each other... but not the game.
Before though... before, it was something different. Everyone talked about the greatest parts of the new update, people left and right could not WAIT to collaborate to bring another SCP to the game or create more music or voice act or write more ideas down or even create their own SCP's. Now? Where did that all go?

Many people blame many different things. The people running the forums, Joonas's absence, the game itself, good people leaving the forums, trolls. Well you know what it is? It is you, yes you, the person staring at the lit up screen. It is you. You make the difference in this game, you make the difference in these forums. ALL of you have the power to make the difference. None of the other things matter. Moderators and Administrators? You all should already realize that, if not, then you should start to. You should all realize that it was heart that created this game, heart that created these forums, heart that created this community, heart that created the teamwork that use to go on here. It will take the same amount of heart to bring all that back. If you do not realize this, then get the fuck off of these forums because you do not belong here. We need people with heart again, people who realize what this game represents. It is a stand. You do not need great graphics for a great game, you do not need a state of the art engine for a great game, you do not need professional artists to make a great game. All you need is heart.

If you can embody that, and remember it, and always see that when you are on these forums, then that is what will bring everything back and excel this game again.

People leave because they recognize that absence of heart on the forums. We have gone in the wrong direction people. We need to turn things around. Bring heart back into everything. If we can bring back that heart, that passion, then there is no need to worry about an absence of people. Passion and heart of the game is what attracted them here in the first place, it is what attracted me here. It is going to take that same passion and heart to bring people back. Don't tell me that they all left because of their busy lives, although that is a reason in some cases, many people on here have HECTIC lives and yet they always make sure to find the time to spend on this game and on this community.

Let me end this by asking a simple question:

Do you have heart?

No, I do not believe I do, I believe in what you are saying though, there was a time where I posted bugs and made great suggestions to the game, I could probably start up my mind again and try to see what else I can suggest but with the game running it's course I think I no longer have anything to suggest as the game itself is pretty good at the moment.

I think that this philosophy also applies to games. Passion is everywhere, and in the Video Game industry developers with passion and heart are never done with their games, they are just forced to release them.
I believe there is always room for suggestion, not matter what state the game is in.

I ask this though, can you do that with the same heart and passion you had when you were posting suggestions and bugs? Your answer to that question will answer your own question.

Sorry I had to delete the other threads, I agree with your points, it's just that making multiple threads to gain attention for one topic will make things a bit complicated and hectic, I hope you understand.

As for the topic, as mentioned, I agree, and feel slightly inspired to do more for the game than I do now. I want to attribute my recent lack of collaboration to school (which recently started for me), I've gotten off to a bad start in this year, things that were out of my control have been dragging me down (AP Euro why do you hate me? :<) and most times I visit the forums I'm not really in the situation where I should be. Hopefully some day I'll be able to log onto here without some workload over my back, and do something for the better of the game. I hope everyone else can do the same, it makes me sad to only see people posting in places like the MLP or RP thread, and not about ideas for new scripted sequences or about how 106 has his pathfinding AI again. Hopefully something in the near future happens in CBs development (v0.8 maybe?) that will see a huge boom in involvement here.

I knew that was going to occur, it was for the small amount of people who saw them so they can be brought here. This is an issue that must be addressed. I know you're are doing you job.

This is the thing though, it is the community that must become involved, that must see that heart. It is the same story every time a new version comes out. Hype goes up, people play it, they talk about it, hype goes down, same thing happens and everyone is quiet.
There needs to be a CHANGE to that. We need to start getting people to believe in this project again, to believe in us again. The way to do that is through action. Not talking about it. A new way of thinking must be implemented. I believe in heart of the game. Do you?

But I do agree, I don't think I was here during this times you were talking about, being relatively new here, but most suggestions I see now are just from people who make an account for the sole purpose of suggesting an SCP which never gets feedback, and a while before that people just suggested guns and multiplayer modes. I guess Regalis' absences lately has caused the excitement to die down, I don't blame him, he has a life.
I would like to contribute to this game, but I don't have a lot of expertise with modelling and texturing, and my attempts at making music tracks are...slow...
I do have ideas for this game, I just find it difficult putting thought into words (e.g. I'm trying to pad out this post as much as I can)

What we really need is more skilled people in different areas. This game is going slowly because we have a few devs with not enough time in the day and a shitton of people who want stuff to be put in at once. In the end, it doesn't work right and the game is just kinda borked. I love it to death, but we just need more SKILL to WORK on it.

You do not have to contribute in modelling, texturing, or even making music tracks. If you can find what you do best in, whatever that may be, then pursue THAT cause, THAT reason.
Contribute in a way that you do best at, whatever that may be.

The game and community need to reinstate its past premises to be able to achieve what was done once before. To bring that passion and commitment out.
This game is going slowly because more and more people by the day are loosing faith in this game and community. Even when Regalis did not post often in the past, the community still thrives. Now? It is near death.
We need that thriving life in this place again to attract people, to bring them to it. It was that same passion that brought people to the game and what made it popular, but now, the community cannot hold its own when people loose faith and loose the vibe of the game.

I'm still onboard this as well, I can't say truly if I have a feel myself as I've been so busy with things that have occurred lately and getting my electronics back from federal confiscation. I'm still an amateur blender modeller/user but would like to help as much as I can for this game sake and mine own. Hopefully big things will come soon in the next update, responsibility only seems to grow as time goes on.

I think this forum has a godawful community as of late though, General Off-Topic seems to be the only thing blowing life into it; like a shit youtube video's comment roster or typical reddit-tard thread.
