So, today the head of Frictional Games just heard about the SCP Foundation as they uploaded a video demonstrating an Item from their new upcoming game - SOMA. They just became very interested into Foundation.

Re: Frictional Games SCP Rip-off?
#4Calling anything so early on a rip-off is a tad bit strong, I'm very interested to say the least, a somewhat Foundation-esque game headed by Frictional sounds amazing, if anything.
It slep time bunner.
Re: Frictional Games SCP Rip-off?
#5Calling it a rip-off may be a little harsh. Hmm... 'Greatly inspired by'?
Whatever the case, Frictional is well known for making very good puzzle/adventure survival horror games. I'm very excited for this and I'm curious to see the sort of anomalous objects they include.
Edit: I accidentally ended up saying pretty much the exact same thing as Omniary. Oh well, just take this as me strongly agreeing with him.

Re: Frictional Games SCP Rip-off?
#6I never meant to say it's a rip-off, only an inspiration by SCP Foundation.
The good thing is that they are not collaborating with thechineseroom, because AAMFP just went downhill and disappointed. Anyways, can't wait for more info.

#7Gee, thanks for sharing this 513. Pretty neat stuff going on with Frictional.Omniary wrote:Calling anything so early on a rip-off is a tad bit strong, I'm very interested to say the least, a somewhat Foundation-esque game headed by Frictional sounds amazing, if anything.
If Frictional did an SCP game it'd be amazing. However that is many other authors work. They could do something similiar-esque. Which would also be amazing.
I wouldn't call it a rip off though, the SCP foundation is a genius idea that needs a big professional AAA to come bring it out to it's true potential.

#8they'd have to make it free because of creative commons ofcMirocaine wrote: I wouldn't call it a rip off though, the SCP foundation is a genius idea that needs a big professional AAA to come bring it out to it's true potential.

Re: Welcome to SCP Foundation, Frictional Games.
#9If Frictional does this, well that would just be awesome! To have that certain feel to SCP that all other Frictional games have would make the game all the more better than it already is.

I love this game!

Re: Welcome to SCP Foundation, Frictional Games.
#10I think SOMA is actually an original idea based on the SCP Foundation. It doesn't actually directly have anything to do with SCP. Basically, that means they can actually put a price on it.
