In this room, SCP-106, will fly to the player, rather than take the way through the DNA scanner locked door.

That is because how SCP 106 is made. I think he just goes directly to the player and ignores such things like collision and gravity.

Well, 106 is supposed to be able to walk through solid surfaces, but rather than float across the gap it's supposed to pathfind.

Yeah but the same thing where he floats can happen in the scp-895 staircase(I think, I don't have a picture).
