Honestly, that sounds interesting. Can't wait for the update containing 860 (whenever that may be).
Any ideas about the monster itself? No need for full details, just a slight hint is enough.
i have a little idea, maybe a werewolf like monster, with glowing eyes
We have a pretty canon description from the article author, who was kind enough to give out some tidbits of inspiration.
Code: Select all
That said, I think the mechanic of 860-1's monster should be more along the lines of a hide and seek game, in a sense. It would spawn in the opposite side of the map, at the far door (12 O'clock). After the concrete door shuts behind you, it will become active and roar. Then, it shall begin running in a clockwise spiral around the map. If you don't leave the door soon enough, the monster will reach the entrance door (6 O'clock), and maul you to death, like in the article. If you continue on into the forest, the monster will continue it's spiraling path around the forest, however, it's curve will increase constantly, so the farther it goes, the closer it gets to the center of the forest. You will have to be on the lookout for the monster as it crosses across the forest ground. If it gets close enough, it will break its path and chase you, eventually catching you, unless, you make it to the door. The monster, if on the constant path all the way through, will reach the center at least 3/4 of the way through the forest. Once it does, it will growl again, and make a straight dash down the path, towards the exit door (12 O'Clock). Being faster than you, the monster will catch you if you don't use any of your sprint. I think it'd be quite simple of a tactic for the monster, while still providing interesting gameplay.
But on the topic of the question: What will be in the next update?
I would say most likely candidates would be another SCP (if available, considering some aren't completely finished), updated models and AI. (mainly the MTFs) And new rooms, and possible another ending.
It slep time bunner.
