#624It is currently enabled, If I disabled it, I get MAV at 45% loading. I am using 0.1.1PXLSHN wrote:Did you disabled or enabled Seperate Zone Feature?caxanga334 wrote:I always get FPS drop in this room.

#625Okay, did you already tried to disable some things like "Enable Bump Mapping"? Because for me the room didn't lagged at all.caxanga334 wrote:It is currently enabled, If I disabled it, I get MAV at 45% loading. #626So, now I hope that the Patch makes it at least playable, sorry that you guys have waited for this update and that it is still pretty unfinished. I try my best to get a new update (probably 0.1.2) to make things more updated.
BTW: Did already somebody tried to contain

#627Disabling bump mapping solved it. My FPS dropped for a few seconds, probably because I rushed with noclip to find this room.PXLSHN wrote:Okay, did you already tried to disable some things like "Enable Bump Mapping"? Because for me the room didn't lagged at all.
Edit:
I almost contained him, I got MAV when loading from heavy containment to light containmentPXLSHN wrote:So, now I hope that the Patch makes it at least playable, sorry that you guys have waited for this update and that it is still pretty unfinished. #628In the new patch, I get large FPS Drops, and the flashing walls and models. Also, how do the resource packs work?
Don't worry about your son, he will be sent to the deep dark depths in no time.

#629Oh my god this thread can not be anymore stupid.
By that logic I can't say a game is bad if I can't make one, or complain to a chef that a steak is not medium rare when I can't cook one. Better yet this flawless claim says we really can't say anything without labeling ourselves what we originally judge, so you're contradicting yourself.
Because none of these really justify any of the problems I pointed out in my first response on this post to Vane.
According to your claim, when releasing this update your thought-process was "Geez modifying pre-existing code is hard and school's taking up a lot of my time. Hopefully people will forgive the mod for being unfinished.", however I'm more inclined to believe that thought-process was "K mod's done time for release!" and the second someone complained, "NU it's unfinished because I have school!"
I'm not doubting the fact that school is stressful or that personal issues can cause trouble for your hobbies, to some extent I even sympathize with you, but as mentioned in my first response the only person to blame for rushing your mod is yourself. No one is forcing you to rush the mod out as soon as possible. You can at least grow up and take the criticism properly rather than trying to shift the blame onto something else.
Seriously, all the counter-arguments you're both providing are simply other ways of saying "The mod is buggy and rushed but it's not my fault because of X and Y."
Now before Zackonark starts yelling at me about how you both apologized several times in this thread, that still doesn't excuse any of the citations I presented in this post. You both still tried to counter Syphen's criticism by shifting the blame to things like school, PXLSHN being the only coder, you guys not being animators, and other things in an attempt to gain sympathy.
If you're going to release something that's unfinished (which again, PXLSHN bluntly admitted to being unfinished) then at least take the criticism and don't whine about it. Otherwise I don't think you're ready for the internet.
True, but it's not like anyone is pointing a gun to your head telling you to rush it as fast as possible. There's absolutely nothing stopping him from simply taking his time to troubleshoot and test the mod. Also only having one coder doesn't make the mod immune to criticism.Vane Brain wrote:On the mod not works super team of coders who can do everything without bugs (because the coder is only one).
At this point I am interested in knowing why exactly so many people think that CB's engine is bad, outside of the usual "omg there are MAVs everywhere!" claim. Given that you never bring up any points to defend your claim though I can only assume you know absolutely knowing about the engine's stability and that you're just saying this on a whim to try and shift the blame to something other than PXLSHN himself.Vane Brain wrote:This is already can be a problem from the engine.
See first response.Vane Brain wrote:And if we do all things that you want from mod, then you would have to wait until mid-summer.
...Really? You're going to use the "let's see you do better!" excuse?Vane Brain wrote:We are not animators. what? don't like it? can you do better?

And this excuses being able to see through parts of the map because...?Vane Brain wrote:If we will do it, you will got 5 fps in intro.SyphenTV wrote:*The facility isn't full in introduction - You can see below and outside the map in the introduction.
You're not even the coder for this mod so why are you defending it so much and acting on the behalf of the creator, most likely without his consent? You seem to like emphasizing that PXLSHN is the only coder so clearly you can't claim anything on that forefront. From what you've presented you're just a person who can't accept the fact that people have criticisms with a mod you contributed to.Vane Brain wrote:~Pretty much just imagine that all of Vane's posts are in this quote.~
Then who's is it? Syphen for playing your game and finding criticism with it? Your personal life for not letting you work on the mod more? Blitz3D for not being easy enough for you to code on? The sky for being blue? Regalis' parents for birthing him which therefore led to a series of events that allowed him to code and publish a small indie horror game that you stumbled upon and begun to write a mod for?PXLSHN wrote:Well it's not a fault by me and from nobody else.
Because none of these really justify any of the problems I pointed out in my first response on this post to Vane.
See first response.PXLSHN wrote:We already like delayed the mod tons of times and I wanted to do some things to it.
Then why are you complaining when someone says it's unfinished?PXLSHN wrote:Everything, even the Intro, is still UNFINISHED!
Again, see first response.PXLSHN wrote:I didn't had time to implement stuff like doors.
I would say see first response again but I'm getting sick of saying that.PXLSHN wrote:Modding the game in a level like this is very hard, especially if you have school during that time.

#630Actually, Commander, You hit the nail on the head.
BOTH of them are to blame here, I just didn't want to get in the middle of it.
Nothing should be released half-finished and expected to be praised, and shifting the focus is a blatant cop-out. Just own up to it, it's not that hard.
I do think you guys have learned your lessons though, and that it won't happen again. After all, you have apologized for it.
I had to put it in. Don't hurt me!
