I have a theory as to why there's no multiplayer; when Regalis was a little boy, he had an action figure. His friend stole the action figure, in turn, the action figure gave his friend a successful life.
This has nothing to do with why he hasn't implemented multiplayer however.
Re: What theory do you have about the game?
#12Reg is scared because if SCPCB had multiplayer then it would draw the attention of competitive players that would insult his netcode for every little bug that is unfixable because of necessary tradeoffs for stuff like lag compensation and movement prediction.
Re: What theory do you have about the game?
#13Theory: D-9341 is homosexual.
Evidence: D-9341 has deep affection to the horny men during the SCP-205 event, which is why he enters the chamber, however they're homophobic so they murder him.
Please reply to my theory, I'm working on it.

#15My theory is that he just doesn't want to add multiplayer because it would partially ruin the scariness of the game. It's much scarier being alone in the dark depths of the facility, surrounded by monsters.juanjpro wrote:Reg is scared because if SCPCB had multiplayer then it would draw the attention of competitive players that would insult his netcode for every little bug that is unfixable because of necessary tradeoffs for stuff like lag compensation and movement prediction.
And then you all killed me for making a non-joke post in this thread.

Re: What theory do you have about the game?
#16It's not like you would be forced to play the multiplayer game mode. Just don't play if you think it ruins the all important "immersion".Cpbald wrote:My theory is that he just doesn't want to add multiplayer because it would partially ruin the scariness of the game. #17Soon people would be complaining how the update removed wavedashing, teching, and how it makes camping and so on more easy to perform.juanjpro wrote:Reg is scared because if SCPCB had multiplayer then it would draw the attention of competitive players that would insult his netcode for every little bug that is unfixable because of necessary tradeoffs for stuff like lag compensation and movement prediction.
Here's one: The guard behind you in the intro is the same one killed in the elevator with the big blood splatter.
Evidence: The guy goes in the elevator. The elevator goes down. It goes into the empty elevator shaft in room939. 939 specimen lures guard out. Guard asks all the questions you hear one of the 939 specimens say, like "I hope the others are OK up there", "Is anybody there?" and so on. The guard notices 939 and says 'blah blah what the hell are you' and then makes a run for the elevator making the usual 1Attack sounds (screaming, pants shitting, etc). He gets to the elevator, but before he closes the door, 939 gets to him and eats him leaving a big puddle of blood in the elevator. Then 939 licks its lips and leaves the probably jostled and damaged elevator, and for some goddamn reason the weight is lifted and the elevator goes back up for D-9341 to see.
The only inconsistency is time. I suppose the wandering around might not have happened since 939 is said to have the ability to put words in the mouth of its prior victims rather than just imitate them.

Re: What theory do you have about the game?
#18First Theory:
Not a theory about Containment Breach but as an SCP Foundation Theory in general.
Class-D are officially paid in full for their crimes. IE execution is faked, body is Claimed to be dead. Justice Served, Body gets loaded on to a Truck or Van. while sedated. When processed. Give a Sort of amnesiac that give them a month long Memory span, Much like %0 first dates styled. those that live will eventually forget how much time they have actually spent in the custody of the foundation. and eventually think they just got there. You'll never have to make good on the One Month and Free deal.
Depending on their skill sets and other attributes done by a dedicated staff, A Class-D could be assigned to a janitorial Job or as a sort of Digital Intel Miner for the case of a black hat hacker that seems to have gotten him self "Shanked" in a prison riot.
Evidence:
The SCP Foundation takes most of it's Class-D population from death row. Once someone dies to serve "Justice" a Doctor on hand will check the body, and then it goes to be Disposed of in what ever method that is detailed on the Execution order.
An agent/doctor can be planted anywhere they want. Orders can be hacked much easier now, especially if there is a second and/or third agent in a well place job.
Once the inmate is declared dead. Security get a whole lot more lax and no body really cares what happens then as long and the offensive element is carted away and dealt with.
The prisoner themselves don't even need to be aware they have been selected for Class-D and can be stolen with out much notice needed if any if given.
Wardens and guards don't much care what happens after an imate is "Killed" so they wont get too worried about when a "Body" is loaded on to a Van and Carted away.
Lastly SCP Foundation is Famous for their Liberal Use of Amnesiacs for all sorts of reason. Is it really hard to beleive in that context that they would not have developed an amnesiac that can while away some one memory repeatedly over the course of weeks while leaving the rest of the Long term memory intact.
Heck they may even just let the guys think they have only been there a day or two rather then a month or two. Leaving their Class-D orientation Letter in in the Cell Every night after they fall asleep, maybe due to a knock out gas being introduced to the cell after light out.
Here is a question for you all?
We all know that Class-D pretty much unofficially means Disposable. But are there a special sort of Class-Ds? Maybe like a Class-X for eXempted? or something like that? Guys that on the outside operate like a Class-D would but are actually being groomed for a position in the Foundation itself?
It would sort of explain the leading guard that is seen in the introduction of Containment Breach. Dumb as a box of rocks but all too willing to murder a dude for any reason what so ever.

Dr. ██████ : "Do you know why you are here? Do you know how you came to be here?"
D-7165-68 : "Not really Doc. One moment I was watching the lethal injection pumps drop, the next I was still alive and here."
