I really like that. But maybe the bell would only ring when you sprint? Constant ringing could get annoying.Omniary wrote:I had actually pm'ed Regalis roughly a week ago for I'd (and a few others) developed a simple idea for 513 and how it could've been reimplemented.
So, with the above, I think the chances of 513 being re-added is quite possible.Regalis wrote:The main reason I removed 513 was the fact that you'd be screwed no matter what you do, but this would solve that issue. The behavior you described sounds interesting too, so I can't see any reason why it couldn't be added.Omniary wrote:So, me and a couple of others have been discussing the possibilities and circumstances of re-adding 513 into the game and how it would be improved from its previous use. The bell itself won't be a randomly occurring event, but it'd appear in-person in it's containment chamber, where it's left in a lorn condition; the coolers have failed, and the suspended case is tipped over and partially destroyed. However, the bell is still inside the casing and can be picked up. However, the problem begins here. Once you pick it up and every time you take a step, the bell will ring.
After about 5 minutes or so, you'll see the ghost as per usual, and it'll disappear when it leaves your sight. Eventually, it'll appear closer, and you'll have to avoid it like that of 173. If it gets too close to you, you'll pass out from fear, and awake to 513-1 attacking you, whom will quickly retreat upon waking up. You'll have your damage at about 1 or 2, and 513-1 will resume his stalking behavior. A similar event following will result in your death. If you manage to heal and survive long enough to reach a Gate, your ending will be effected negatively on 513's initiation. (IE: You'll pass out in the service tunnels of Gate A, and 513-1 will retrieve your body, or 513-1 will appear in the control room at Gate B and you'll black out.)
It will have an actual model, we've been thinking about what to do, and we decided a tweaked version of 096's current placeholder could work well once the new 096 model is put into the game. Do you have any opinions personally if this would make a good addition? It certainly could please those who were a bit disappointed to see 513 leave the game.
Re: SCP 513
#12Would there be any use to have 513 in your possession, other than to be stalked by 513-1? I think there would need to be some reasoning to pick it up, even though I love they idea of having 513-1 stalking the player throughout the facility, I think there needs to be some reason the player would NEED to pick up 513, because if there wasn't there would only be a new threat if you CHOOSE to pick up the bell, It would be better if you had no choice but to pick it up.

Re: SCP 513
#14I guess, but I still think it would be better if you needed it for something, otherwise it seems like adding an SCP that will eventually never be seen. (after people realize what is causing it) The only people that will pick it up will be people that want the challenge.Destructoid wrote:It would just be for curious people.
EDIT: Maybe 513 could be used to finally distract the MTF, since ANYONE who hears the ring of 513 will go through strong anxiety and then be stalked by 513-1, you could maybe make the choice of ringing the bell, which would then cause MTF to "freak out" and leave their post, allowing the player to pass them, of course if it was done this way, it could no longer ring every time you stepped or sprinted.
This then give the player a choice of "do i take the easy way out and get stalked or do I sneak passed the MTF and possibly die".
Re: SCP 513
#15I like that. There needs to be some way of bypassing the MTF. And I also think it should mostly appear near doors for you. And I definitely think the note should be located nearby.prizna wrote:EDIT: Maybe 513 could be used to finally distract the MTF, since ANYONE who hears the ring of 513 will go through strong anxiety and then be stalked by 513-1, you could maybe make the choice of ringing the bell, which would then cause MTF to "freak out" and leave their post, allowing the player to pass them, of course if it was done this way, it could no longer ring every time you stepped or sprinted.Destructoid wrote:It would just be for curious people.

Re: SCP 513
#16Using it against the mtf would also fuck you up, I wouldn't recomend on it.
Also, the same that you said about someone not wanting to pick it up can be said about 096 or 865. People don't look at 096 of woud go to the coffing knowing that larry is there, but this is a SCP game, we are here for the SCPs. Maybe it hasn't any use, or maybe you can use it along with the jade ring(Im not sure if the bell is memetic or if the ring would work) but the fact that the bell is there, just a click away would be enough for many of us. Also, taking into account the changing maps, none that isn't of this forum would actually know it it has any use before they explore everything, the temptation of picking it will be strong when they don't know what to do.
I would give the player two minutes before the bell starts ringing though, maybe some of the blocking material has still not melted, it would make it more surprising and would make it more dangerous. Imagine that you have saved, and then the fucking bell rings. Also, every Scp fan would want to hold it for a a second, at least.

God is perfect -> Nobody is perfect -> I'm nobody --> I'm perfect --> I'm God.
Re: SCP 513
#17Actually that's quite an interesting catch. I would think that the Jade Ring would most definitely counteract the effects of 513.Lusor1111 wrote:Using it against the mtf would also fuck you up, I wouldn't recomend on it.

Re: SCP 513
#20Aaah, I see. So you would sacrifice sprinting and drop your blink bar quicker, but you would be immune to 513's effects. This could also make you more susceptible to 966 if that one was added.Destructoid wrote:714.
