Battery-operated flashlights

#1
One room I ran into was pretty dang dark, and it was IMPOSSIBLE to see anything. I could just hear 173 moving around in the room, and it was pretty creepy. He even made that horror noise eventually and I just ran for my life out of that dark room. I'm not sure if it was me or not, but that room was pretty scary! One tool that would be a nice addition to the game is the flashlight, or a spelunker's helmet or something. It would illuminate a certain radius, with the use of the batteries in-game. With the flashlight you could incorporate completely dark rooms specifically for flashlight use, so you can move around and find necessities in the darkness. Also imagine the horror of lighting up a room to find 173 staring at you! Another mechanic that would go nicely with the flashlight and all battery-using electronics overall would be the concept of batteries actually running out, so you have to be careful and strategic with battery use. That is all :D

I've been wanting a flash light ever since CB first released...Darkness can be scary, but when you put TOO much darkness it just get's really fucking annoying >.< (sorry!) I would love to have a battery powered flash light, and I'm not sure if any one else thinks this, but I think having a flash light would actually be more frightening...if you have the cone of light be rather narrow and make the beam very bright you create this psychological effect in pitch black rooms. When Humans are placed in a room where light and dark heavily contrast each other the mind plays tricks on them, they may think they are seeing things that aren't there...

oh my
yes.
definately.
Maybe put it in the Electrical Room too.

...EXCEPT that you wouldn't really put 8V batteries in any flashlight, compact or maglite.
Maybe it would require D-batteries and you just place maglites in the game (maglites are those huge flashlights that can actually pack-a-punch)

I think the flashlight would be an awesome idea, but to make it really useful, you could have unlimited battery, but after you use it for a while, there could be a meter in the corner showing the time you can use it, and if you un-equip it the meter slowly goes back up. So if you completely use the battery, it would take a LONG time to recharge, and you could only use it when it got fully recharged. If you ask why the battery should be unlimited, ITS THE SCP FOUNDATION FOR DARN SAKE.
Pewdiepie: Lets just take this nice and ea- *dies*
Markiplier: I dont like this game, but i sure can beat it. *opens door and dies*
Me: LETS DO THIS! *opens door and runs into SCP-106* ._.

What? What you are asking is for recharging batteries (such as half lifes flashlight), not unlimitted batteries., and why would the meter come out after a while? Wouldn't it be better for it to appear when you start using it?
But that would take away the horror, since you can keep the flashlight almost all the time. Having to put batteries is better, since it would make you have to look around for batteries to use it.

lol
what is this, Halo?

batteries do not replenish by themselves when not operated
They only replenish either through charging, or kinetic force if such allows it (like those flashlights you can shake to recharge)

maybe if some SCP was a battery with unlimited use, maybe it would be a different story
