how do I add an avatar? it won't let me add the image directly through my account

You add an avatar by not posting STYOOPID Threads, Goodbye.

NOTE: There is a Help thing somewhere on these forums... methinks...

Click user control panel, go across to profile, go to edit avatar, paste a url into the empty space next to Link off site, you can't actually upload from your computer, instead you have to find an image url and paste it be careful those as some sites do not allow you to use pictures found on their website.

Well I tried that, but it keeps saying the URL is too big, i'm trying to get an image off google btw

The url is too big or the image is too big anyway to solve the image too big problem what you need to do is re-size it yourself using the avatar dimensions, if an image is 200 x 200 I usually re-size it to 90x90 or if it is 200 x 199 I re-size it to 90x89 so and and so fourth it seems to work and doesn't stretch the picture too much.

Well fuck you could become more useful by not acting like a dick to a new user. It's not a stupid thread, he's just asking for help.

One last thing I should mention, if the url is too big I would suggest uploading it to something like photobucket or imgur both of which are completely free to use.

EDIT: And if you are too lazy to sign up, I could upload the image to my photobucket just to be a little helpful, all I will need is the image url to save the image.
