There are some bright lights in the darkness about cartoon shows in 2000 and forward.

SRMTHFG! is one.

MLP FIM is one.

Welcome to add to the list of bright lights in a dark era.
What fun is there in making sense?
Now, if you will excuse me i have some chaos to wreak.
Resident forum robot monkey, and chaos incarnate.

I'm not sure what the first one is lol. :) EDIT - Never mind, Found it.

I've never watched My Little Pony myself.

And I know that there a few interesting cartoons left out there. Just with all the Tweenybopper stuff going on.. It's hard to find them.

By the way, My previous post isn't exactly a rant. :P Just my views on the whole thing.

Jellycog wrote:Toonami back in the day was great. Now you have disney channel. The same ship spouted out by spoiled teens in every episode. Even the adult shows are getting shippier. South park is now pretty much the same, and family guy just absolutely stinks nowadays.

And games? It's all focused for the 12 year old kid, no original ideas, no difficulty. Valve and a few others have managed to keep gaming alive, but they are beginning to slip.

Natural Selection 2 is one of the good games to come out this year. An indie shooter with more gameplay and better graphics than COD. Funny thing is, it's made by 6 people.

And don't fudging get me started on music...
Toonami.. I literally felt down when I found out that they shut it down. And I know about Teen Shows. All went bad after Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana. Now all of these " Actors and Actresses " seem to think that they can sing. And the characters? The angsty, teenage girl who thinks she the victim. The friend who has the same amount of brain cells as a rock has leaves. The parents who can't think clearly [ I am surprised they are even parents ] and the stereotypical bullies who do some annoying friend hand gesture.

I only play Games for the Story and development which is why I love Assassin's Creed lol :P I don't mind Halo since, again, I really like the story and fun factor. I couldn't care less about Graphics. I mean, Look at Minecraft. Amnesia. They don't look like " Blockbusters " but they are darn fine games. I haven't heard of Natural Selection myself. :(

Music. Music, Music, Music. I will forever stay in the 50s / 60s/ 70s/ 80s and 90s eras. And enjoy every single minute of it. :D

Oh dear, I hope we are not going off topic. This thread was initially about Cartoon Intros but now it seems to have turned into a Nostalgia Thread. :P

Remember when real-life sitcoms used to be funny and enjoyable? (Drake & Josh, That 70s Show, etc.) Yeah, neither do I.
I don't get why people think cartoons have dropped in quality. I still good ones on (Legend of Korra is really good). Yes, there is a lot of shit being spewed out nowadays a lot more, but if you look past that, there are some real gems that can be enjoyed.

Also, I don't know how this topic went to games, but I don't agree that games are currently mainly marketed to 12-old year twits (CoD, blah blah blah. BO2 wasn't horrible and took more risks than the original one, which is shit). I thoroughly enjoyed games like Journey and Legend of Grimrock. Mass Effect 3 was great too, save for... that ending.

I liked Kenan and Kel :P

I just prefer sitcoms that were clever with good humour. Never liked Drake and Josh myself. Too much " Boyfriend / Girlfriend " stuff. And I do agree about gems being around on T.V. Hence, Why I said Young Justice.

It's just it's too hard to find them since all these other shows are just constantly taking up airing time. Not sure about where you live but here in the UK, All I see are the shows which contain mostly senseless and bad acting. :|
