Please, My Friend, There is no need to embarrass yourself. A Fox would win against a Pony in unarmed combat anyway :3

EDIT: Foxmccloud, is that from a Ratchet and Clank game?

The show in itself is, as you said, intended for audiences of younger ages and aimed more towards the female gender. This is entirely true. However, as an older male who happens to enjoy the show there are multiple things that allow me to find it awesome.

First, the acting and animation are superb. As a fellow actor and voice actor, it is something I can HIGHLY respect. Not to mention the show stars the amazing Tara Strong (Past rolls include Timmy Turner, Batgirl, Raven from Teen Titens, and the blue power puff girl)

Second, the show has an amazing score. The music numbers and Overall soundtrack are just beautifully done. The background music is original and the music numbers take inspiration from many different genres. For example, the Flim Flam brothers song (Found Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ssl1RxwMWNA) takes heavy inspiration from The Music Man, one of my all time favorite musicals.

Another, very major, factor that brings my enjoyment would be the under-the-radar humor that simly flies over the heads of younger kids but people of older generations get. This includes minor sexual innuendoes, jests towards swear words, etc. It adds to the appeal and humor of the show, especially if you get the references.

Now, it is my opinion that My Little Pony also has one of the greatest villains of all time. This villain, of course, being Dicscord. (Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-wVmpMMzhw) One of the main reasons this character is loved is because he is both based off of and voice acted by the man who played Q in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

So yeah, I'm a Brony and proud. However, I would like to point out that the title Brony doesn't come with merely watching the show. Brony is the term used to describe the bigger fans of the show, which I am. You can simply appreciate the show, watch it in your free time, and still not be a Brony.

As others have said, you really need to watch the show for yourself to form your own opinion. The first two episodes of Season One are indeed very clichè and corny, but do get better. I recommend watching at least half of season one if you want to form your own solid opinion.

Oh, and if anyone continues to call us "retarded" or "brain-damaged" for watching and liking the show, you can expect a very swift kick to the arse from me. You are disturbing the peace and blatantly insulting people for what they like. Try to be civil, or get out.
