Another 513 Topic

Probably been suggested, but I haven't seen it yet, so:

I was thinking, I believe that 513 itself causes a memetic effect that makes people see 513-1 unless I've read wrong, that when you find 714 there should be a note saying something creepy along the lines of "Always wear green" or something, to hint that the player keep 714 on at all times, because after one picks up 714, 513's noise is triggered over the intercom at a random point later on, no earlier than 5 minutes and no later than 30, being rung probably by someone in the insurgency trying to destroy the foundation. If the player isn't wearing 714 when 513 is rung, they will see 513, and after an hour of gameplay or so their vision will blur and they will eventually die or be rendered unable to move on their own because insanity literally drove them into hiding in a corner. Then 106 could come and kill you or something just to keep from prolonging the game, and a special message is shown on the YOU DIED page to at least inform the player of what happened to them so newbies dont come to the bug report section like "WTF happened?". Thing is, 513's randomly timed noise can only occur if someone picks up 714, giving them at least a chance to survive. Just a thought. There could maybe even be an achievement at the end like "Used 714 to block 513's effects."
When going into the unknown, always know what you know abouts what's not known about the unknown known.

I think you may be a little misinformed, there. There's not really such a thing as 'magic' in the Foundation universe, all SCPs are anomalous in nature which is what makes them SCPs. I believe SCP-513 counts as a memetic hazard, so 714 would provide some protection against it. However, it probably won't help much once a human has already heard the bell ring (i.e. They would see 513-1 as normal, but would not experience the same anxiety and worriedness common with 513-1 sightings since that is strictly a mental effect.)

There also isn't any indication on the SCP wiki that 513 has no effect when heard over an intercom or radio etc. The article says "Any noise produced by SCP-513 immediately induces strong anxiety in all sentient beings who hear it", not mentioning the requirement for proximity or direct exposure.

http://www.scp-wiki.net/understanding-memetics Read this

Also, any noise produced by 513 does not mean that the recoprdings or digital transmision has the same power. It only says that the noise (that is sound vibrations) must come from 513. And, who would have thought, when you play a copy or use the intercom it is the same noise ofs 513, but produced by a speaker.

And what the conditon for working was? "Any noise produced by SCP-513"

Understand'?

EDIT:Ooops! Sorry for the swearing, people. It was uncalled for.

Well, that explains a lot... :/ And "implementation" is not just right. 513 is just an entity who just scares the living crap out of you and it doesn't mean that he is cognitohazard and could cause amnesias or could kill you. [ But, the Bell just nothing does and it warns you with the sound]

Sightings of SCP-513-1 reoccur every 14 to 237 minutes. This “stalking” behavior inevitably causes extreme sleep deprivation, as victims are frequently disturbed by SCP-513-1’s presence in their quarters. Victims able to fall asleep before SCP-513-1's appearance report being physically assaulted by it. Upon the victim's awakening, SCP-513-1 flees as usual.
