If you read 860's document, it says that the LTF foundation wanted to take the crystal heart for testing. Also, as far as they're concerned King Sombra was dead so they wouldn't have known that he would take over the empire once they removed it.

I talked to him about it over Skype, the changeling army now invades the Crystal empire...which personally I'm not sure if it's much better, my initial concern is that the Crystal heart is a huge fakin diamond which is probably unrealistic to carry unless you have magic or are a Dragon, my second concern is that the Crystal heart teleports you, my third concern is the fact the LTF removed the crystal in the first place, my fourth conce...[DATA EXPUNGED]...s Chrysalis probably won't even know about the the Crystal empire, and even if they did they have no means to other take it because it's being projected by the power of Shining and Cadences bond as well as the joy of it's inhabitance, and I doubt they would fall for the same changing trick twice. When the invasion of the empire happened, the heart got damaged so it now teleports you to the empire. Don't ask why, it's just something to explain why it teleports you there.

If the empire was destroyed, then there would be no reason for it to stay there.

......ok, you're really overthinking this. This isn't even a question that would be anwsered in its document, so there's no reason for it to have an explanation if you don't even see the explanation ingame.

We're trying to stay as canon and rational as possible. Stretching things a bit too far just to explain gameplay things is not a good thing to do.

My idea was to make 860 a magic stone which can be used to activate a portal which goes to the Crystal empire, it would be contained as It's an experimental mechanism.
I know Commander didn't like this idea, but does anyone have opinions/ideas?

So, making Twilight get stuck in 914 is bad but an out-of-nowhere MAGIC ROCK is okay?

Magic rocks aren't too far fetched for this setting.

Characters being complete retards for the good of the story however, is a no no.
