I've seen this said at least a few times in my lurking here and I agree: most people can accept the inability to wield firearms in the game provided there is a valid reason for your in game character to refuse it (the opportunity is there undeniably)

Aside from not allowing the possession of firearms, you could let the player acquire one and be unable to use it for whatever reason, adding to the terror and taking up an inventory slot. The player would have to relinquish whatever sense of security it gave them to complete the game.

The only time I suggested a Gun was one without Bullets as an Easter Egg.

Or Bullets without a Gun.

It got positive feedback but ever since the MTFs were implemented, It was best to drop the idea. :)

So now, I'm pretty much happy without any firearm in Game.

On a side note, I think that there should be a notification that the Guard who kills himself in the Bathroom used his last bullet.

Otherwise, People would be wondering why they cannot pick up a supposedly fully loaded gun.
