Re: A way to add the game to another OS
#1Unfortunately, Wine just emulates the CPU calls for the operating system. It still requires you to have an x86 processor. So no MacBooks, Raspberry Pi, or any device not using an AMD or Intel processor.
Yes. If your computer can run Windows, then it can run Wine on Linux/Mac OSX.Yael_(810) wrote:But, will it work in a normal pc with other OS? (Sorry I didn't use it yet)
Perhaps a virtual OS? Works the same way as Wine but more complex. Seems a bit radical to play SCPCB though.Juicy wrote:But the game doesn't work with Wine, you will get the lovely "Memory access violation"InnocentSam wrote:Yes. B3D uses DirectX as a graphics API, so you're going to have to wait for the C++(OGL) port.JaggedProtocol wrote:I actually joined this board pretty much just for this topic. With the growing popularity of Macs, and being a Mac user myself, I feel like it's a shame not to have a Mac version of this game. Running in a VM environment results in a nigh unplayable games, due to low FPS and general crappiness.
I'd be happy to compile the Blitz source and create a Mac version- while this isn't something I've had experience with, per say, I have compiled some pretty bizarre things for the Mac OS X, so this should be easier... That being said, is there a versioning repository that is accessible?

It doesnt seem to function with direct x applications.B3D uses Direct X
