Discussion of current creepypastas. My opinion? They're getting worse and worse these days. Get back to the really scary pastas and add some feels! Anyways, I believe there are four different types of terrible pastas:
- The Sixteen Paragraph Death
Kudos to Z-Bites for the name. Basically, it is a story in which a part involves many paragraphs describing one death. Guys, if he's dead, he's dead. There is no reason to describe it so gruesomely, and please remember that if it is TOO gruesome, it might sound very strange rather than scary.
This is just terrible. It's just a pasta about some episode of a famous television show that was never broadcast and and rather describes how the show goes the other way and suddenly everybody is dying for no apparent reason. Only a select few pastas actually break this cliche. One is called "Squidward's Suicide". At least there is a REASON as to why
but all other affects in the pasta are made to simply scare effectively. However, other "Lost Episodes" are basically just things like Sandy peeling off Sponge's skin for no reason. 'WHY?" he screams. Well, because the writer was retarded. That's why.
Yes, the dot series. Things like .gif or .wmv or .dog. Really? .dog?? It's actually called Smile.Dog (Shet, this punctuation is annoying). Anyways, it's usually a photo of something that is supposed to be scary. However, it's just a photo.
Photos may cause psychological effects? Well, alright. Explain.
Sixteen paragraph death.
You, sir, are a terrible person and writer. Go to hell.
We all know exactly what this is. If you don't, it's basically an invincible character that is instantly hated in Creepypastas. Obvious example=Slenderman. Go in a forest and get killed by a creature that can't be stopped. There is your problem, he can't be stopped. The character has to have some sort of chance, and running away but still getting caught just dictates the antagonist as Gary Stu again.
Many of these can be overrode, like in stories such as the Suicide episode this. However, most of the time they are inadequate.
By the way, if you've made Creepypastas, I can post them on a list down here if you'd like. I'm making one myself, however it's in progress. No, discuss!
