About User Rule #8...

#1
Can moderators stop locking threads because someone has bumped an old thread? I believe the rule is:
8. Don't bump months old posts, either start a new one or find another threadon the same topic.
Which is all well and good, provided the moderators don't lock the only thread on the topic. For example, the subtitle thread. There's only one and the bump was justified. What if I was making a subtitle mod and I needed the link to be working to download it?

Another example, my mod thread.. While it's been implemented into the game, someone might be using my source code for their own thing and need help.

I'm not saying for moderators to not do their job, but for the love of Christ, stop locking threads immediately after someone bumps it. Take a moment to ask Steelpoint if locking it is a good idea.

The reason for that rule is so that mods can lock dead threads that have been revived without people calling them out for not following any rule.

It is up to the acting moderator to decide what to do in any given situation. Though I do think I will have to ensure the mods don't lock an old thread that has been revived for a good reason.

I locked your mod thread because the IQ in that thread was dropping at a steady rate, you know you can easily pm a mod to unlock a topic.
its mainly trialtrex who locks bumped threads, complain to him
I'm not here as much right now, mention me on our Discord server if you need anything.

I think personally the rules could be bent in a way, Suited for Modding and Other SCP Games, I think that threads in those two sub-forums should be able to be bumped so long as it is under this condition: The owner of the thread has made an update or significant progress and wishes to show others their work, therefore can double post (So long as it has been a week since their last post on their thread) or bump a very old thread.
