*As he approached his door he heard a voice say , ""Everyone, go get some sleep. We have a very long day tomorrow, and we can't do good with migraines and vampires."*

"Yes. A long and difficult day tomorrow."

*He sat down on his bed.*

"Goddamit."

*He lay down on his bed and went to sleep*

(Dream)

*Dr. Baton is walking around aimlessly trying to find out where Dr. Ether went.*

"He couldn't have just disappeared like that. Not without telling me first. First he was acting so strange and he keeps hiding in his lab. Then he-"

* A voice from the intecom rang throughout facility.*

"Dr. Baton is requested to meet Dr. Gears in his office."

"Me? What does he want with me?"

*Dr. Baton headed to Dr. Gears. When he got there he knocked on the door.*

"Come in, Dr. Baton."

*He went in and saw Dr. Gears sitting at his desk.*

"You wanted to see me sir?"

*He sat down in front of Dr. Gears.*

"Yes. Is it true that you are best friends with Dr. Ether?"

"Yes. Why?"

"Do you know where he might've gone to?"

"No sir."

"Has he introduced you to any of his secrets?"

"He gave me the code to his lab in case if there is an emergency."

"Then I'm afraid, we'll have to rid you of your memories of that and him then."

"Wait, what?"

"Dr. Ether is to not be remembered ever again. He is a dangerous person. We can't risk you having memories of him. We also can't risk him finding out where you are.You are a vital tool to his plan. We must hide you in order to keep his plan at bay.""

"Sir, what are you talking abo-"

*He was suddenly knocked out.*

Dream ended.

Dr. Kelman woke up. He was already almost asleep by the time he heard the voice last night, but he was sure someone said it would be a long day, and possibly something about vampires. I'm sure I heard wrong, he assured himself. They wouldn't have me dealing with vampires on the first day, right? Either way, someone definitely said it would be a long day, whether it included vampires or not.

He decided to go to the break room for breakfast and coffee. Hopefully, everyone else was up, too, or at least just waking up now.

"Come on, Gale, it shouldn't be far. Just stay awake"

"Wait... wha-"

"Wake up, Gale, come on, Wake-"

----

"...up"

Gale opened his eyes to the sun cascading through the window. He stood up on his bed and sighed. He wondered as to what the day would bring. If there was one thing that it had already brought, it was a pulsing pain in the back of his head. He stood up and searched through several bunks before finding Slade, sheets thrown and wet due to sweat. He looked back to his own bed and sighed. He proceeded to shake Slade for him to wake up.

“Coffee and aspirin is what you need, let me go get some, alright?”

He headed out as Slade began to get up. Passing the strangely small facility, which he ultimately would never become used to, he found a small medical room. He pulled through several cabinets before finding a bottle of aspirin. “Xtra strength” is said.

Extra Strength my arse, the aspirin alone is strong enough

He headed back to the room where Slade was just standing.

“Here, get yourself ready and we’ll head out as soon as possible. Epsilon-11 is bound to go with us and you know how they are. Speaking of heading out, I’ll get everybody else ready and let’s see... radio, ah, yes.”

Gale left the room swiftly and, as a side task, took an intercom phone in the hallway.

“All doctors, scientists, everybody get up and meet in the radio room.”

Gale dropped the phone back in the cradle and headed to that very room, only vaguely noticing he was still wearing jeans and a white shirt. Even then, he made a mental note to change as soon as he was finished with this.

(Dr. Lavrov awoke from his slumber. Apparently he'd been more worn than he had first thought. He woke up on his office floor, and now his bones were aching from the pain. Stepping outside, Lavrov grabbed his "exploding caramel" he left on his desk. Reaching into the mini-fridge that was in the neighboring office, he opened a Mr. Pibb and gulped down half of the carbonated drink in one setting. Like a dog perking its ears up, Lavrov paid attention as the feed of the intercom came on, followed by Gale's voice requesting all staff to the radio room, those who were there, anyway.

(Dr. Lavrov made his way to the radio room with ease, thanks to the huge "RADIO ROOM" sign above the door. He grabbed a chair and made himself comfortable. Handling the caramel in his pocket, just in case he'd been tricked, Lavrov finished the rest of his drink and tossed the can aside, awaiting for what Gale had to say.)

"Oh good, you're here," He made sure to shake Dr. Lavrov's hand before looking behind him. No one was there, he would have to wait, "You're here much faster than I expected you to be here. What got you up?"

Dr. Kelman was just leaving his quarters to go to the break room when he heard the intercom. Radio room? I guess this is the start of that "long day" that guy was talking about. Before leaving, he grabbed one of the granola bars he packed in his suitcase and ate it quickly on the way to the radio room. He didn't quite know where to go, but he managed to find his destination in just a few minutes. Good thing there was a big, obvious sign that said "RADIO ROOM."

He opened the door and found that only two people were already there. On one hand, it wasn't surprising. He'd always been able to wake up earlier than average. On the other, he barely knew how to get around the facility, so he expected to get there later than he did. Of all the rooms here, they decided to give the most obvious sign to the one I most likely wouldn't have needed to use. Still, I guess it's pretty lucky.

One man was clearly another researcher working at the facility. The other one had scars on his face and arm. He was probably a guard or maybe even part of one of those MTF groups Dr. Kelman heard about. It was most likely the former. Trying not to be insensitive, he ignored the man's scars and tried not to think about it too much. "Hi, my name's Daniel Kelman," he said, introducing himself. "I'm new to the Foundation and just arrived last night."

He held out his hand to the researcher.

“All doctors, scientists, everybody get up and meet in the radio room.”

*He got up groggily. That dream he had really sent him spiraling down the drain of angriness and depression.*

"..."

*He grabbed all his essentials: his combat knife, pistol, ammo, and the picture of him and Dr. Ether.*

"Today's the day hopefully. I'm coming Ether. I'm coming to save you and everyone else."

*He headed to the Rec room first to get some coffee and a granola bar. Then he headed to the radio room. Once he made it to the radio room, he opened the door and went in. He saw a guard, Lavrov, and a new person. He sat down and started to drink his coffee and eat his granola bar.*
