That game was very good, but it wasn't scary at all.
I'm serious. The only time I was scared was when I was first introduced to the pigman in the dark. And at the end of the piston room, I was terrified. But from then on, all that ever happened was walking, puzzles, a small visit from the water monster, and a mindfuck ending that reminded me of Bioshock Infinite's. I believe that they could have done a lot more with the horror aspect and insanity, but it turned out to be a small but well made game that didn't really live up to The Dark Descent's horror factor.
Has anyone else finished the game? If so, what are your thoughts?
Re: Just Finished Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
#3Haven't played the game all the way through. But I can say this: the writing and music are beautiful. Where The Dark Descent passed in those factors, A Machine for Pigs exceeds greatly.
I feel that my verdict will be the same when finished. The Dark Descent will have the gameplay and horror of a true horror game, but A Machine for Pigs will have the storytelling of a masterpiece.

It slep time bunner.

#4Note to self:
Never trust talking toilets.
EDIT:
Also, I must say, the story was very interesting and well written. However, I knew the plot twist before it even happened. It was obvious.

#5I think pretty much everyone knew it deep in their hearts, but they all wanted to deny it. It still was kind of heartbreaking when it happened nonetheless.MrGuilkeyFace wrote:However, I knew the plot twist before it even happened. It was obvious.

#8Thats why I don't really buy any new games anymore, 90% of them are nothing but dissapointment.

Re: Just Finished Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
#9The story started off REALLY good. But as it went on it just became so damn weak and lost all connection to itself.
I wasn't scared in the least and quite offended by the fact that they dared to put in cheap jumpscares at some places.
Finished the whole game in just about 3 hours. With 2 sessions and while eating some lunch inbetween. Meh.

#10I'm glad I didn't buy this game now, I might as well save for Half-life episode 3... maybe I can be like Fry from Futurama and make billions of pounds from interest.
I'm not here as much right now, mention me on our Discord server if you need anything.
