But of course, that all depends on the map layout and some luck :)
Me? Luck? That's about as likely as The Old Man conversing politely with Nine-Tailed Fox.

And instead of only one guard you could perhaps even use two in the event.
"Hello? Anyone here?"
"Hey, what is that thing?"
"Huh? WAIT! DON'T LOOK AT ITS F...."
*096 starts screaming*
"Oh SHIT! NO..NO I SAW IT TOO! WE HAVE TO..."
*both guards get devoured by enraged 096*

The whole scene can be played off in so many different ways...
This is in essence the role the small server room plays; some parts can only be accessed by going through that room, such as The Cowbell or the containment chamber for The Old Man or in my case every time, the Entrance Zone checkpoint.

As for the scene itself...well it could work, although I don't quite know if The Shy Guy can actually have multiple -1 targets. Then again, considering interview 096-1, it is presumably the case. Actually considering that, it might work much better...

Interview 096-1 shows Cpt. █████████ had The Shy Guy hit by an AT-4 HEDT anti-tank launcher and lost half its torso, but was still destroying the squad. That's what triggered my curiosity.

Remember, SCP-096 does not take any kind of structural damage though :) So even if his skin/meat/blood is all gone, his skeleton/bones in general always remain intact.

Maybe, but it's not necessarily about having a bone structure. Muscles are what make you move, after all.

Of course, you need bones to be sturdy, but muscles to be mobile.
Spoiler
For the record, The Sculpture violates this rule, but that thing doesn't play fair, anyway.

We can't possibly start nitpicking about those kind of details though.
Neither 682 nor 096 seem to be influenced by injuries much.

096 was "injured" to the point that not only all his organs should have been gone but his blood as well. but he didn't even acknowledge the injuries in the least.
Besides. With the tiny amount of muscle mass 096 has, it should be difficult for him to even get up let alone WALK on those limbs ;)

I can wonder about a lot of things in the SCP universe. For example...

Can SCP-079 be shown SCP-096 without any retaliation?

Is SCP-500 capable of curing or weakening a host of SCP-610?

What can SCP-914 do to other SCPs? (i.e. SCP-420)

Would SCP-076's threat be severely reduced if contained on the Moon?

Is SCP-069 a Spy?

And of course, mine signature.
